I immediately replaced the t-con and mainboard, but the symptoms stayed the same. I later found the t-con board clicking (relays) multiple times after power-up, corresponding to the screen flickering. Disconnecting the LCD ribbon cables stops the clicking from the t-con board. I think this means that there is a short in the LCD panel itself.

My two year old Sony Bravia TV stopped working all of a sudden. The screen would shut down within a second when we switch on the television and their red light blinks at the bottom 6 times. Sony has specific error codes corresponding to the number of times the Red LED blinks. 6 blinks indicate backlight issue, bad main board, or bad power board or inverter boards. Nowhere does it mention that there is any problem with the panel and I"m getting clear display for a second before the TV switches off automatically. But the service center says that the panel needs to be changed and it costs 27K. I think the service center is a cheat. And very disappointed with Sony. You pay 80K for a TV and within two years it stops working and you have to pay extra 27K. Why would Sony make such unreliable products? Within two years if the TV stops working for no reason then definitely it was defective from the beginning.

Sony KDL 60EX645. I have only had the TV for 3 years and it all of sudden will not turn on. I have done all the troubleshooting and reset. I WILL NEVER BUY ANY SONY PRODUCT AGAIN!!!

I bought a Sony BRAVIA KDL32BX330 32-Inch 720p LCD HDTV after reading a lots of description and review about the product on the internet. I was given two years warranty at the time of purchase but it"s just so painful that the television started fading from its screen few months after purchase and I have to start calling on to contact Sony regarding my complaint. The customer representative agent keep saying that there is nothing that can be done as the part for the product is not available, advising me to go and buy any other Sony products in any of store as the warranty can no longer be honour since no products for KDL32BX330.

The television Model KDL-60w610B was bought 11/28/14. The night of 7/20/15 it just turned off, lost all power. Will not turn back on. Called Sony the next day. Was told to email proof of purchase. I was never given an event # or ticket # so first email was just discarded. I called back figured this problem out. Finally got them the receipt. They set up an appointment with HD repair company 7/29/15. The company never showed up. Apparently they didn"t get the parts. So since 7/29/15 we have been back and forth with Sony and HD REPAIR. Sony finally said they would just pay out on the TV.

About two years ago, I got a discount offer for a KDL-50EX645 from Sony Support to replace my Sony KDS-60A2010 (which broke down in 3 years). This KDL-50EX645 now has gotten the famous 6 blinks and died in less than 2 years!!! Sony Support again claims the TV set is out of warranty and offers me a discount to buy another Sony TV set. I"ve already spent over $2000 on Sony TV"s in 5 years. Should I spend more money on Sony TV"s???

KDL-40BX450 hdtv - This device is no more than 2 years old and is at our vacation home so has had very little use. A day ago it powered itself up and emitted a high pitched loud noise. I turned it off and then back on and got the exact same noise several times. Thinking that I may have an easily remedied and common problem - not trying to even raise a warranty issue - I went to Sony"s service site. I started a chat with an operator who identified himself as Patrick (**) and after the intro and his request I hold until he reviewed my issue. After that the system "froze" - that is it would not even accept a question of "are you still there".

I bought a SONY TV about 2+ years ago. The TV model was KDL-40BX420. I did not buy any warranty since it is a great brand. I trusted that would last at least 5 years. After using about 2 years, the TV started showing strips that increased to the half of the TV screen within a short time. At the beginning, I did not think it was the TV problem. I tried to check out myself. Then, I called Cablevision. They checked and stated that was nothing related with Cablevision. I then followed the eSupport.SONY.com to troubleshooting. Nothing was resolved. Finally, I had to call SONY support. I spoke with Selene (female rep) at 888-222-7669, x5, x1, x1 on 7/9/2015 at 10:35 am. She was very unprofessional and before we could complete the conversation, she hanged up the phone. I was surprised that SONY has such rep.

I purchased a 32 inch led TV from Croma superstore, Chennai in October 2012. Imported from Malaysia. The TV developed defects in led panel last month despite following all operational standards. All parts inside the outer cover are made in China. Poor quality - keep away.

Sony KDL 40hx850 panel damaged. Purchased the a/m model in the year 2013. Now the screen shows two crisscrossing dotted colored lines. Sony technician has verified that the display panel is damaged and a replacement will cost at least 460 us dollars. Feels utterly disappointed after spending approx 1260 us dollars for this tv and it is less than 3 yrs old. Aware of similar complaints. Request my fellow folks to think twice before investing your precious money where technology is not fool proof. Thanks.

I had purchased Sony LED Television; model KDL-32EX650, Sr No 3260255 dated 06th June 2012 from Vijay Sales, Thane Mumbai. As Sony is the leading well-known reputed brand name in electronics market. We buy Sony products because Sony is the name of trust, quality & service. And in the same way I have trusted Sony for its high quality products and customer satisfaction oriented approach.

Soon after the warranty period expired, Horizontal lines and Vertical Lines appeared on the screen. I had launched complaint and service engineer visited, as per the service report/service engineer TV panel got defected and need to replace it. As TV is out of warranty customer has to pay for the same. As Sony is International no.1 brand it has got a problem in just 2.6 Years, unbelievable! I have referred website, so many people having same problem. Means there is no meaning to go for any branded products. Why we are buying Sony Products and paying more amounts, because of Good Reliability, Good Support, Unbeatable picture quality. I would suggest do not go for any Sony brand.Read full review

Would like to share my Experience with Sony. Back in October 2013 I bought a 70 inch Sony KDL-70R550A Led Lcd. During Easter this year I switched on the tv to be greeted by a dark blue screen. I still had Audio, but could not get a Menu or anything. I rang Sony, and they said to send an email of my receipt. I bought the tv from Harvey Norman in Wangaratta. Having not heard anything for 2 days I rang Sony again and they told me to contact SSS Electronics who are the Company that fixes Sony Products that are in Warranty & not in Warranty. My tv isn"t because it was a 12 month Warranty. I rang SSS and they asked me if I had the box the tv came in and I said I didn"t. They said they would send one as their office is 600 km from me.

2 weeks went by and nothing so I rang Harvey Norman and they suggested calling a company named Telefix in Albury located 90 km from me. They told me to bring it in which I did. After a few days I rang Telefix and was told the tv had a Faulty LCD panel which would cost $1,500 and to ring Sony Customer Service and explain this to them and to get back to Telefix. This is where I"m at now. I"ll ring them tomorrow. Surely they can"t expect me to pay that. Sony should, and I"ll pay Telefix their Labor. If I get no Satisfaction, and Consumer Affairs can"t help, my last avenue is A Current Affair. I"m so Angry about this because Sony is supposed to be a Top Brand, and I have bought their Products all my life. Never Again!!Read full review

Purchased Sony 32-inch KDL-32EX650 full HD on 28/10/12 from top in town Varanasi showroom, but after 30 months its screen having problem with horizontal line and blurred picture. On repeated complain Sony tech visited and informed that the panel needs to be replaced as problem with it after inspecting. We purchased this LED thinking that we are buying best, but it does not met the expectation whereas my 15 years first old tv of BPL is still in running condition without any repair. It"s my request to everyone planning to buy LED, go for Samsung, LG... It will be wastage of hard-earned money if you buy Sony. Believe it because Sony LED have manufacturing defect in panel and this problem will come anytime after warranty period is over.

There are five greenish tabs on the left side that seem to be glued to the panel. The third one from the top down seemed to be the what with the problem as the screen would go crazy as soon as I applied little pressure on it. The first and second ones from the top down where somewhat sensitive but almost unnoticeable. The two bottom ones did nothing to the screen when I touched them. In addition to the five green tabs, there is a brownish ribbon with a connector on each end which seem to connect the top and bottom. Nothing seem to jabbed when I tapped either end of it.

I wanted to get your thoughts on what the next step should be. Will I have to remove the left tabs? If so, what is the best way to do it? Will have to remove all five tabs plus the brown ribbon? Also should I pull the tabs from the end connected to the front of the LCD panel or from the end that connects on the side, or from both ends?

I bought a 70" Sony TV in Oct 2013 (model KDL-70R550A). Last week the screen went black and the red power LED blinks 5 times, pauses, blinks 5 times, pauses, etc. A check on the web, including a discussion forum on Sony"s website, showed that this is a common problem for this TV. Apparently the fault lies with the LCD panel (made by Sharp and used in Sony, Vizio and Sharp TVs), but since the set is beyond the 1 year warranty Sony will not fix the problem.

The problem is even more serious. If you call Sony they will suggest you check with the nearest repair facility, only to be told that parts are no longer available. There are many posts in forums that talk about a law that says manufacturers must have spare parts for 7 years after purchase; if not they have to replace the defective set with an equivalent or better product. But this only applies if you specifically agree to have the set repaired after a diagnosis of the problem by a certified repair centre. To discourage people from saying they want to proceed with the repairs, Sony raised the price of a replacement panel to $5000 (this is what I have read; I can"t confirm because the repair shop I checked with told me there are no more parts available).
