Plasma Display panels and LCD"s have improved tremendously over the past year, so much so that I do not hesitate to recommend them to consumers or for most computer applications. Some surpass even the best CRT"s in terms of brightness levels and contrast. Most all will display more colors - nearly 17 million.

We tested the Samsung plasma monitor with several input sources including the new Sony DVPNS700 progressive scan DVD player, a Panasonic TU-HDS20 HDTV Decoder box, and a Hewlett Packard 7935. The unit was displayed and compared against the new Panasonic TH-42PWD4U and the new Pioneer PDP503MX - very tough company.

This lower priced offering does a good job with some elements of picture reproduction. The colors on the unit as set by the factory were pleasing and lifelike. I could see vivid detail on the DVD Angel Eyes using progressive scan 480p. The plasma did a good enough job up converting a 480i signal that the difference was only 5% to 10% in favor of the progressive signal. This stable up conversion is a nice feature for those watching S-VHS, normal DVD, and NTSC signals. The clarity and black levels increased further when inputting the HDTV signal.

Compared to the other two plasma models tested the unit appeared a bit grainy. There appeared to be less depth in the pixel structure. Black levels were not as strong as the Panasonic (which is the best in the market for contrast) or the Pioneer. And like all but the newest and best plasma TV offerings this causes the blacks to appear a bit washed out. Still, if we were not watching the unit side by side with the years best we would not notice it as much. The picture was very nice and I enjoyed it much more than one of the…

Considering sub $5000 prices the unit is the lease expensive 16:9 plasma monitor on the market. Is it a value? For the boardroom or high tech firm it will serve nicely - especially if the esoteric design fits the décor.

Image Quality:In controlled ambient light conditions, the video quality of the SP-H03 is quite good. A few adjustments to default settings of brightness, contrast, and saturation are needed to optimize the image, but the result is well worth the effort. While a 1000:1 contrast ratio is not going to deliver shadow detail and differentiated highlights, the SP-H03 does put up a well-saturated and well-balanced image with excellent flesh tones. Data images lack some punch, but increasing brightness and contrast from optimal video settings helps.

Aspect Ratio: The SP-H03"s native 854 x 480 resolution makes it a natural for viewing movies. The 800 x 600 competitors display widescreen 480i video with black borders above and below the image, but the SP-H03 maps 16 x 9 images full frame with no black bars.

Computer-free Presentations: Using Samsung"s Document and Media Viewer conversion utilities, you can store your Microsoft Office documents (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Adobe .PDF files, and movie, image, and audio content in their native formats in internal memory.

Compatibility: The SP-H03 can accommodate a wide range of data, video, and music formats. Formats supported include VGA to 1280 x 800 (WXGA 16:10) for computers, NTSC, AVI, and MP4 for movies, JPEG and GIF for images, MP3 and WAV for music . . . and several more that limited space prevents listing.

Battery Life: Once the snap-on external battery is fully charged via the AC adapter, the SP-H03 will last for about an hour and a half showing a movie with audio at mid-range. If you are looking at photos with no sound, then you will get close to two hours of viewing time.

Placement Flexibility:Pico projectors, including the SP-H03, typically do not have zoom lenses, so image size is directly proportional to the projector"s distance from the screen. For example, a 48" image puts the SP-H03 at 66" from the screen, and if that is not a convenient spot to set the projector, then you will have to live with a different image size.

Audio Quality: The SP-H03"s 1-watt speaker may be enough for a very small audience seated close to the projector although the sound is all mid and high frequencies. However, there is an audio output for those times when you need external amplification.

On-Screen Menus: While the menus are easy to get to via the backlit icons on the SP-H03"s surface, getting to the function you are after is not particularly intuitive and some practice is needed. A clearer explanation in the included User Guide of how to navigate the menus would be a nice documentation upgrade.

If you are a mobile presenter that really likes to travel light or you want to watch movies while traveling with an image bigger than your laptop display, then Samsung"s SP-H03 might be the answer. It is compact, light, and puts up a surprisingly good picture for its size. With only 480 lines of vertical resolution, it is more suited to movies and PowerPoint slides than detailed spreadsheets, but battery life is close to two hours, and many image formats can be displayed. Ambient light can be an issue and there is no digital input, but at $299.99, the SP-H03 is a serious contender in the pico projector market.

Hello everyone,Recently i bought this projector thinking that it can play all video/image formats as mentioned in many reviews and websites , but i got disappointed to notice that it does not even support avi for video and JPEG for image , when i connected my pen drive , except wmv , it says all other files JPEG / avi etc as invalid format.

the projector is just fine, it reads pdf, ppt, doc, docx, xls, xlsx, avi, mp3, jpg, bmp, gif... It reads and sub files with the movies... If you have trouble with the internal memory you can always format it! :) I did it, it"s working... :) Good luck

There is a similar issue concerning video file size. I"m not sure exactly what the limitation is for the moment but under 1.5GB works fine and 2.5 does not.

Can anyone tell me how to navigate this projector in power point presentation, I only use it for presentation. For example, a presentation of 20 slides, does it allow me to navigate between different pages? Or simply has a fixed time for each slide!

What did not work so far, and how i solved it -Component, tried several cables (component to vga) to connect my ps3 or wii with high quality. Does not work, ended up buying a component to vga box, what cost me about 80 bucks. called samsung, and they didn"t know. They should call me back like 6 months ago. - connecting to a mac with vga, Use displayconfigX and set the resolution to 800x480 with 60hz (for movies ok, but for osx itself it"s not nice to work with). That should do the job. with windows no problems @ 800x600 trough vga.

I got a Pico Projector a couple of months ago as a present and I"ve used it a couple of times. The last time I turned it on, some white dots appeared on the top right of the projected image. After a while, the whole image looked like a starry night; dots spread all over it and I wonder what is going on. I"ve read some forums but none of the explanations there have helped me. Can anybody help me out? Thanks a bunch!

My SP-H03 works fine with a digibox, both out of a scart connector to AV and films stored onto the hard disc. DV cameras (Panasonic NV400, SD100 and TA1 in all picture aspect ratios) also work well (also the micro SD loaded in the TA1) and DVD films in 16:9 format played on my DVD players. Problems appear when playing films in the 4:3 format, both commercial old (ec. Jacques Tati "Les Vacances de Mr Hulot", Michail Barychnikovs ballet "Don Quixote/the Met asf) as well as my own snaps recorded onto DVD (at least the TA1). These are displayed as widened 16:9 (people become fat) and if I choose the 4:3 formats in the DVD player an additional vertical squeeze occurs distorting the picture further. Also using the SP-H03 Pico as a second screen on my old DELL computer with a 4:3 screen, the picture is widened to 16:9, that is distorted. But as a direct screen for TV replacement it is beautiful. I hope the product guarantee will help update firmware or something will sove the 4:3 to 16:9 distortion problem.

Further clarification to the picture distortion problem was found when watching "As Time Goes By" on TV last night. While a part stored onto the digibox hard disc shows the original 4:3 picture undistorted, direct viewing from the cable box using SP-H03 distorts the "on air" picture to 16:9 (video out from box), while the picture in the Panasonic TV screen is OK. Now also my old Philips aerial digibox produces a distorted picture (4:3 to 16:9) through the SP-H03. I sincerely hope to get something to solve the distortion problem. Did I say I could get no picture from film viewing on my 4:3 DELL, while at the same time the computer background picture was shown through the SP-H03, distorted to 16:9...i.e. the video window only was black, while the computer screen shows it all...

The aspect issue solved. With proper signal in the main menu (button low left) allows aspect adjustment choosing "size". DVD:s, computer asf handle well, even the inexpensive COBY pocket DVD with a 7" screen of its own is fine to show old classic 4:3-movies. A marginal issue was found with contrast adjustment; the picture bleaches when moving away from 50 either way and completely when reaching 80 and beyond or 20 and below.... Picture OK at 50.... So, I got what I wanted, GOOD SAMSUMG!!

i read here some examples similar to my own experience, and in the problems with the pc, after i read the message (audio input is shared by both video and PC, then no signal..) i solved by pressing both Fn+F8. but for the tv probs i still have no solution...

I have the same problem as Rose Anne. White pixels all over the projected image. I"ve written to Samsung. Hopefully they will offer advice or/and fix it.

I have bought 10 of those for an artistic installation. 6 of them broke. The matrix burns after a while, dots start appearing on the projection, and you get Star Wars. Oh, and all 10 of them are completely unreliable - the battery can die real quick (as in - 15 minutes instead of 1,5 hours), they overheat and turn off by themselves.

White dots all over, and its rarely used! How to fix this! damn, my series 8 TV also has garbled sound.. im not going to buy Samsung ever again! Im going back to Sony.

Mine started the same thing. My assumption was Hot and cold (AKA Dead) pixels on the LCD. Which is only repairable by replacing the LCD, which I didn"t see as a likely option...

Samsung should call all sp-h03 back for free repair, if they are a serious company! My projektor has been used so little and always been kept in the case that came in the packet! it worked fine one year ago, but now the screen is total unreadable! Bought this projector and was very excited. Watched few movies and used as display for video game console and showed to friends who were impressed. But the excitement was short-lived as the color disappeard, now only blue color is seen, others are in grey. Has been sitting on one side as an expensive paper weight for very long time still hoping it will be fixed eventually. Total waste of money.

HD TV has 1280×720 = 921,600 pixels; Full HD has 1920x 1080=2,073,600 pixels; 8K TV has 7,680×4,320=33,177,600 pixels. he “K” in 8K stands for Kilo (1000), meaning a TV that has achieved a horizonal resolution of about 8,000 pixels.

Although we can define a LCD display with resolution, a Full HD resolution on screen size of a 15” monitor or a 27” monitor will show different. The screen “fineness” is very important for some application, like medical, or even our cell phone. If the display “fineness” is not enough, the display will look “pixelized” which is unable to show details.

A lot of times, we heard about what is the DPI of your monitor, actually it is not a exact correct saying. Please find the definition of DPI and PPI as below.

PPI stands for number of pixels per inch. It is kind of pixel density. PPI describes the resolution of a digital image, not a print. PPI is used to resize images in preparation for printing

But you see other lower resolution available, that is because video cards are doing the trick. A video card can display a lower LCD screen resolution than the LCD’s built-in native resolution. The video cards can combine the pixels and turn a higher resolution into lower resolution, or just use part of the full screen. But video cards can’t do the magic to exceed the native resolution.

Abbreviation: QVGA, VGA, HD, FHD, 1080p, 1440p, 4K etc. It is very straight forward for different applications. For TV buyers, they can simply focus on 4K, 8K etc; for industrial engineers, they most likely focus on VGA, HD, WVGA etc.

The resolution of the LCD display is 800 x 480, you can configure the resolution via software, and the maximum resolution it supports is 1920 x 1080. It is a USB capacitive touch screen and does not require a driver. It supports five touch control, besides that, the LCD screen comes with an OSD menu adjustment function. U heeft al een klantnummer? In dat geval volstaat het om uw klantnummer door te geven. U heeft nog geen klantnummer? Gelieve uw volledige firmagegevens door te geven, zijnde: Firmanaam, contactpersoon, adres, telefoon, fax, gsm, en ondernemingsnummer. Huurperiode: • Gebruiksperiode van … t.e.m. … (= periode dat u het materiaal effectief gebruikt). • Afhaaldatum (d.w.z. dat u op die datum tussen 9u00 - 12u30 en 13u30 - 17u30 uw materiaal komt afhalen in ons magazijn). • Retourdatum (datum dat u het materiaal terugbrengt tijdens bovenvermelde uren). Referentie: Uw referentie zoals bv. naam van event/beurs/meeting enz. (het vermelden van een referentie is handig m.b.t. correcte communicatie). Artikelen: De gewenste artikelen en de juiste hoeveelheid! -> Houd rekening met de vereiste installatieaccessoires (zoals bv. pennen en clipsen voor lichtbruggen, …). -> Houd rekening met de vereiste installatiekabels. Geef duidelijk type en lengte door. Gebruik de artikelcode -> versnelt de verwerking met minstens 50%. • huurperiode: begin- en einddatum van de effectieve gebruiksperiode. • blokkeringperiode: begin- en einddatum van de periode dat u het materiaal nodig heeft (wij kennen maximum 4 behandelingsdagen voor transport en op/afbouw toe, vrij te verdelen vóór of na de huurperiode) De door u opgegeven data zijn bindend en dienen te worden gerespecteerd. Wanneer u het materiaal te laat inlevert, rekenen wij hiervoor extra dagen aan. • het gevraagde materiaal (mét AS-idenitiﬁcatiecode) + de gewenste hoeveelheid. Gelieve alle nodige accessoires (bv verbindingsstukken, kabels,...) correct bij te bestellen. Houd steeds rekening met de vereiste installatie accessoires (zoals bv. pennen en clipsen voor lichtbruggen, ...), alsook met de vereiste installatiekabels. Geef duidelijk type en lengte door. Wij zijn niet verantwoordelijk voor een tekort aan accessoires die niet of verkeerd besteld zijn.

Een annulatie van een bestelling dient steeds per fax of e-mail te gebeuren. Het volstaat op de bestelling “annulatie” te vermelden en dit document ondertekend aan ons door te sturen. Indien u de bestelling annuleert binnen 7 dagen voor afhaal- of leveringsdatum, rekenen wij alsnog 50% van het totale bedrag aan.

Gelieve de offerte ondertekend naar onze verhuurdienst door te faxen (+32(0)3313.74.73), indien u akkoord gaat met onze voorgestelde prijzen en algemene voorwaarden. U krijgt ter bevestiging een optie of bestelling, afhankelijk van uw speciﬁeke vraag, en onder voorwaarde dat alle onderdelen beschikbaar zijn. Door gebruik te maken van de optie, kan u het gevraagde materiaal reserveren voor een bepaalde periode. Deze is echter maar een paar dagen geldig. Als u de optie ondertekend aan ons terug bezorgt vóór de vervaldatum, wordt ze omgezet in een bestelling. U bent nu zeker dat het gevraagde materiaal beschikbaar is en zal klaarstaan voor de gevraagde periode. Indien u de optie niet licht vóór de vermelde datum, vervalt ze. Het materiaal wordt dan terug vrijgegeven voor andere klanten. Een optie blijft 7 dagen open wanneer ze drie maanden voor de huurperiode wordt vastgelegd. Wordt ze slechts een maand voor de huurperiode aangevraagd, is ze 3 dagen geldig. Wij kunnen geen opties toekennen in minder dan een week voor de huurperiode. In dit geval wordt uw offerte of aanvraag meteen een bestelling. Wij bezorgen u de bestelling per fax / e-mail, zodat u alle details kan nakijken (materiaal, aantallen, data,...). U dient deze ondertekend aan ons terug te bezorgen bij wijze van deﬁnitieve bevestiging. NOTA (°): Een eerste bestelling dient steeds schriftelijk aangevraagd te worden op briefhoofd of op een ander ofﬁcieel document van de ﬁrma, door de persoon die gemachtigd is om de ﬁrma ofﬁcieel te verbinden (of volmacht hieromtrent te verstrekken aan een collega). Gelieve rekening te houden met de tijd die nodig is om uw dossieraanvraag te behandelen. Zolang uw dossier niet goedgekeurd is kan er geen verhuur op rekening plaatsvinden. KORTING (°): De eerste korting die toegekend wordt is afhankelijk van de bedrijfsactiviteit (zie Kruispuntbank). Eventuele bijkomende kortingen dienen besproken te worden met onze commerciële dienst.

Dit kan alleen per fax / e-mail. U kan op de bestelling uw wijzigingen aanduiden en dit aan ons bezorgen. Wij sturen u per kerende een aangepaste bestelbon door, die u kan bevestigen. Verlenging van een bestelling: Een verlenging van een bestelling kan aangevraagd worden voor een ‘volledige bon’ en dit uiterlijk één dag vòòr de retourdatum. Bij beschikbaarheid van de materialen wordt de leverings bon met de nieuwe huurprijs (m.b.t. de verlenging) doorgefaxt. De verlenging is pas deﬁnitief als deze aanpassing per kerende door u ondertekend wordt teruggezonden. Zoniet vervalt u in het systeem van te laat retour (zie afhaling & retour van materiaal). Indien u een gedeelte van het materiaal van een bon langer wenst in te huren dan vraagt u hiervoor gewoon een nieuwe bestelling aan. Betaling bij afhaling: Wanneer de bestelbon duidelijk vermeldt “betaling bij afhaling”, dient u de betaling te voldoen vooraleer u het materiaal meeneemt. U zal hiertoe worden verzocht wanneer u een nieuwe klant bent. Voor reeds bestaande klanten geldt deze regeling wanneer een vorig factuur reeds meer dan drie maanden openstaat. De betaling kan gebeuren door middel van bankcheque, bewijs van overschrijving, Bancontact/Mister Cash, Visa/Mastercard, American Express, RES of cash. Afhaling & Retour van materiaal: Het materiaal staat klaar op de afgesproken afhaaldatum (en vanaf/op het eventueel afgesproken uur) en dient ook terug te komen op de afgesproken retourdatum (en voor/op het eventueel afgesproken uur). Net zoals u wensen ook andere klanten volgens afhaal datum (en uur) over hun ingehuurde materiaal te kunnen beschikken. Dit kan enkel als iedereen zich correct aan de afhaaldatum (uur) en retourdatum (uur) houdt.Wij zijn dan ook genoodzaakt een nieuwe huurperiode + eventuele bijkomende kosten aan te rekenen als het materiaal niet volledig in aantal en technisch in orde op de af gesproken retourdatum (en uur) verschijnt.

Verzekering Tijdens de volledige huurperiode dient er voor het gehuurde materiaal een verzekering tegen diefstal, vandalisme, brand, overstromingen en machinebreuk aangegaan te worden.Wij bieden u de keuze tussen de volgende mogelijkheden: A) Vrijstelling van verzekering via AS Technology, met optie 1 en 2 In dit geval bent u niet verplicht een verzekering tegen bovenvermelde risico’s te nemen. Wel dient u één van de volgende bijdragen en eigen risico’s te accepteren: 1) Minimaal eigen risico: Bijdrage van 10% van de huurprijs van machine(s) en toebehoren, met een eigen risico van 10% van de verzekerde waarde (met een minimum van € 3.000,00 per schadegeval); 2) Maximaal eigen risico: Bijdrage van 7% van de huurprijs van machine(s) en toebehoren, met een eigen risico 30% van de verzekerde waarde (met een minimum van € 3.000,00 per schadegeval). B) Eigen verzekering U laat het gehuurde materiaal zelf verzekeren tegen bovenvermelde risico’s voor de waarde van de apparatuur, wat betekent dat u het volledige risico draagt. In dit geval dient u ons vóór aanvang van het project een attest van uw verzekering te bezorgen. Wanneer wij dit attest niet ontvangen, zullen wij u automatisch de vergoeding voor niveau 2 berekenen.
