Only about 2-3 months, the touch screen started malfunctioning. When you press you finger on certain part of screen, it acts as if finger touched somewhere else, you can see on the screen because there is a indictator where being touched and it indicates far away from where you press. This monitor is a garbage.

PCGameBenchmark has reviewed 858 models to find the best gaming monitor available on Amazon. We"ve ignored some of the smaller and generic brands. We"ve filtered to only show the best gaming monitors available to buy right now - this ViewSonic gaming monitor made our 2022 list.
Now"s a great time to buy a new PC gaming monitor. So many games are enhanced with great graphics, there are always ViewSonic deals to be had (no need to wait for Black Friday 2020) and there"s a massive range to choose from. High quality graphics are super important when you’re playing and the gaming monitors sometimes sold with PCs are pretty rubbish. You may also want to use a monitor alongside a gaming laptop.
The display size, also known as viewable image size (VIS) is the physical size of the area where videos are displayed - not the monitor case itself. The size of a screen is the length of its diagonal, which is the distance between opposite corners, usually in inches. The display size of this above average monitor is 24 inches. Check our compare monitors page to see other monitors this size at a larger range of prices.
PCGameBenchmark ratings are built up from the scores of the Amazon community, to show the most important aspects of a PC gaming monitor. We merge those scores to create a percentage rating. With a robust, Full HD 1080p two-point touchscreen, versatile connections, and ultra-wide viewing angle, the TD2421 is ideal for use in public kiosks, POS displays, and other retail and commercial applications
Pros: This is my first touch screen monitor so I"m fascinated with touching the screen and how futuristic it is. I needed this for doing video work for events and the software UI works well with a touch panel. Also the angled stand works great for standing at a table / desk.
-The shielding that hides the monitors IO connectors on the back for the HDMI and DP are absolutely horrendous. The effort it takes to pry these things off warps the bezel and there is no way to connect your cables unless they are removed. every. time.. I have to now hold the bezel together to keep it from further separating during the process of removing the plates. I mean this is stupid and almost an egg deduction. If I could give it half a egg off I would.

Well what can I say that other customers have not made mention of this product? It"s a very economical touch screen monitor, considering that others are between $400 and $600 for just a functionality. Bigger screen? Possibly, but if all that is required is the ability to manipulate objects with your own fingertips rather than a mouse whose left mouse button can get worn out. It has some accuracy issues with more finite objects on screen such as the "X" button on tabs for internet browsers, but overall it"s a more economical purchase. My only central annoyance of the product is that it cannot tilt far enough to allow one to, somehow, manipulate the screen as if one used a tablet. I have yet attempted to see if the touch screen is usable with a stylus or not, but I"m sure a few of you have done so.Oh! Before I forget, there"s a strange little quirk that I had noticed when I had used the touch screen recently. Apparently one does not need to physically touch the screen in order to register the touch as a mouse click. Just hover above the screen, but that"s not exactly the most natural of positions so what have you. When I had first received the product and downloaded all the necessary programs, the touch screen did not respond to my actions. It was infuriating and I went to ViewSonic technical support, Microsoft Community because my computer was upgraded to Windows 10 months ago, attempted to find the correct drivers, even voted on said Microsoft Community that the touch screen monitor was not compatible with Windows 10, then I got worried that I got the incorrect product since one of the directions warned about fingerprints on the monitor being difficult to remove. Why put such a warning on a touch screen device? Was it not meant to be touched? Then after nine hours of such frustration, I kid you not, I received an E-mail reply from one Aljhon of ViewSonic Support and there was a statement at the end of that message that went "Installing monitor is not required or necessary. It will work as plug and play device." After a few moments of updating all possible drivers through the Device Manager, I thought what would happen if I unplugged the USB cable from the PC while connected to the internet. So I tried so and not only did Windows 10 recognize it as a touch screen monitor, it also automatically downloaded the necessary drivers to operate properly. As you can imagine, I was filled with joy that I finally gotten the touch screen monitor to actually work on Windows 10 and annoyance that I did not think of trying such an action in the first place. The directions for installing the device instructed that I plugged the USB into the PC before I began software installation from the included disk, it did not make any mention of unplugging and replugging the USB cable back into the PC with an active internet connection. So a bit of advise for those who choose to purchase this product: Once you"ve installed all the programs on the disk, make sure that you have an active internet connection and replug the USB cable back into the PC. Don"t be like me and go for nine hours of frustration. It"s much more simpler that way.
Large screen monitors are no longer prized for their size alone and now must have more than just a high-resolution screen inside of a well designed chassis. The ViewSonic TD2740 27″ 10-Point Multi-Touch Consumer/Commercial Display has no problem with that; it provides a quality image with finger-tip accessibility as well as conventional mouse tracking. Speaking of quality image, see how some of the best computer monitors are leading the way.
That would have been the end of the needed connections, if not for the fact that the TD2740 has capacitive touch screen capabilities. In order for these to function, a USB cable must be connected from the computer to the display (yes, Viewsonic supplied one). With all this done, the driver software was installed into the Windows 8 OS and the timing mode set up. If your computer supports it, as mine did, choose the monitor’s maximum resolution of 1980 x 1020, with a 60Hz refresh rate. Or choose 1920 x 1080p, 1920 x something else etc.
The full HD display has various on-screen display controls for adjusting the image, tweaking the color and contrast ratio, and so on. Button controls are located on the lower right side of the bezel which is a bit thicker than some others of its size range (27”), which I chalked up to the touch screen technology built inside. With the exception of contrast, which I ended up tweaking slightly down, the display was used at its factory settings.
I found the TD2740’s imaging to be very sharp and contrasty. It also performed well over a wide viewing angle so that friends could watch over your shoulder while you’re gaming (or your boss can watch while you’re working) comfortably. The touch interface worked smoothly and accurately, and supported up to 10 touch points (that is fingers) on the monitor at once. In fact, I found the touch interface to work just as smoothly as a mouse when cursoring around the screen or selecting items from a pulldown menu. Certainly a mouse allows much finer resolution of movement and so may be somewhat better at detailed drawing, but that isn’t specific to this monitor — any touchscreen device will work about the same in this way. And require a good cleaning after a session of finger smearing across the screen. Cleaning a touch screen monitor is a little different from maintaining your typical one, so be sure to research those cleaning methods.
I didn’t find any issues when streaming video — images were crystal-clear and without any color bleed or other discrepancies, especially at higher video quality levels. Switching over to productivity apps, word processors and presentation software ran equally well with plenty of room on the screen to open up two documents side-by-side.
The TD2740’s stand can be completely folded out of the way so that it will lie flat — enabling it to be used as if it were a tablet or a tabletop. This is where touchscreen abilities can really be useful, allowing drawing and interactive uses in a more natural posture. And it probably is as close to my being in Tony Stark’s virtual reality lab as I’m ever going to get.
Bottom line: ViewSonic’s TD2740 27″ 10-Point Multi-Touch Consumer/Commercial Display is an excellent choice as a display/monitor due to its size and image quality, even with a retail of $799.00. But add to this its multi-touch touchscreen ability, the built-in webcam, and lie-flat function and the TD2740 can be seen as a great long-term choice for the home office or workstation.
