iphone 7 lcd screen repair cost for sale
An iPhone 7 screen is divided into two parts: the LCD and the glass. If your LCD is broken you might see large patches of dead pixels, flickering images, or experience a lack of touch responsiveness. If the glass is broken, you will see large cracks but the screen may still respond to touch.
The LCD screen of the iPhone 7 is responsible for your device responding to your touch correctly. If your phone is not responding, it is likely that you need a LCD repair or replacement.
On average, it costs around $95 to repair the screen of an iPhone 7. For a more accurate quote, bring your device to a repair professional so they can evaluate the device’s condition.
Fixing a cracked iPhone 7 screen is a quick and easy process for a repair professional. If the LCD is intact, a technician only has to remove it and replace the cracked screen with a new one.

If youriPhone 7 screen is cracked and you’re not sure whether to fix it before you sell it, start by comparing its broken price versus its net value repaired:
In general, you can get the most money if you repair your iPhone yourself before you sell it, but professional repair isn’t worth it. Once you factor in the repair cost, you’ll get more for a broken iPhone 7.
For example, a 32 GB iPhone 7 in good condition is worth $175. It costs around $20 to repair it yourself, so you could cash in for $155. Professional screen replacement runs between $99 and $149, which would net $26 to $76; but you could sell it broken for $92.
Determine iPhone 7 screen replacement cost You have two options for fixing your iPhone 7 screen: do-it-yourself or paid repair services. The DIY approach is cheaper, but if you’re not experienced you run the risk of causing additional damage. Aftermarket iPhone 7 LCD and digitizers run between $20 and $25, and you can find repair toolkits for around $5 to $10.
Paid iPhone 7 repair services cost more, but you won’t need to worry about additional damage. Many repair companies offer guarantees and warranties for extra peace-of-mind.
Calculate the net value of your iPhone 7 after screen replacement Now that you know the price to replace your iPhone 7 screen, you can calculate its net value as such:
Compare iPhone 7 prices, repaired VS broken Finally, you need to compare the net value of your iPhone 7 repaired versus broken. This makes it easy to see which option maximizes your resale value. Here’s a breakdown:
As the table illustrates, you’ll get the most money if you repair your iPhone 7 yourself; however, if you’re not comfortable tearing into your phone or simply don’t want to hassle with it, you’re better off selling it broken than springing for a repair service.
There is one final consideration: how long you intend to keep your iPhone 7. If you plan to keep it for another year or two, it might be worth paying for repair. If you’re intent on selling it, use the above table to decide whether to fix it first or sell it with a broken screen.

Good news: Apple"s (sort of) got your back. Broken iPhone screens are so ridiculously common that the company has apparently decided they don"t even need to charge that much for the repair -- because, you know, so many people are coming in with the problem that they"re making money regardless. So here are your options for fixing (or not fixing) that broken iPhone 7 or 7 Plus
A broken iPhone 7 or 7 Plus screen isn"t the end of the world. If the cracks in your screen are minimal and purely cosmetic, you may want to put off repairs until they"re actually problematic. I suggest picking up a glass screen protector -- such as Ventev"s ToughGlass for iPhone 7 or Case-Mate"s Gilded Glass Screen Protector for iPhone 7 Plus -- to keep cracks from spreading (and to prevent any cuts as you slide your finger across the screen).
If you have AppleCare+, a broken iPhone 7 or 7 Plus screen will cost a mere $29 to fix. However, AppleCare+ costs $129 and only covers two broken screen incidents per device -- so your first broken screen will actually cost $158 (which is more than a broken screen replacement for an iPhone 7 or 7 Plus without AppleCare+), but if you break it a second time the cost-per-incident will go down to $93.50. To check if your device is covered by AppleCare+, go here and enter your iPhone serial number.
Without AppleCare+, the cost for fixing screen damage (and only screen damage) is still very reasonable: $129 for an iPhone 7 screen and $149 for an iPhone 7 Plus screen.
To get your iPhone 7 or 7 Plus screen fixed by Apple, you will need to take your phone into an Apple Store or send it into an Apple Repair Center. Sending a phone into an Apple Repair Center will cost $6.95 in shipping fees, and your phone will be returned to you approximately three to five business days after the Repair Center receives your device -- so this option could mean as much as a week without your phone. In-store screen repairs usually take about an hour to an hour and a half, but you will need to reserve a spot at the Genius Bar (and you may not be able to get a same-day reservation, depending on how busy your local store is).
Tips:Take your phone in ASAP: If your phone has a single, hairline crack, Apple may consider the damage to be due to a manufacturing defect and may fix your phone for free. Apple techs will determine whether this is the case -- there"s no guarantee that a broken screen, no matter how small the crack, will be considered a manufacturing defect instead of accidental damage.
Ask with kindness: You may be able to convince Apple techs to fix your phone for free -- even if you have more than one hairline crack -- especially if there are no other signs of drops or damage (only the screen is broken). Again, this is because Apple will fix screen breaks due to manufacturing defects for free -- but Apple techs are the ones who determine whether your break is due to a defect or an accident. Note that manufacturing defects are only covered if the device is under warranty -- so, within the first year without AppleCare+, or within two years with AppleCare+.
Back up your device: It"s unlikely that anything will happen to your data during the repair, but it"s better to be safe. Here"s how to back up your device.
Have your Apple ID password ready: You will need to unlock your phone and turn off Find My iPhone before the techs will take your device. You"ll need your Apple ID password to do this, so make sure you have it handy (this is especially important if you"re taking someone else"s phone in).
Apple"s screen repair service is pretty cheap -- so cheap, in fact, that it probably doesn"t make sense to go to a third-party repair shop unless you"re in a pinch. For example, you don"t live near an Apple Store and you can"t bear to be without your phone for a week.
Most third-party repair services can"t repair an iPhone 7 or 7 Plus screen for significantly less than $129 to $149, and any discount you"ll get might not be worth the risk. Third-party repair services usually use third-party parts in their repairs -- and some of these parts may not be up to Apple"s usual standard of excellence.
If you go to a bad third-party repair shop, you may end up with problems like a home button that no longer recognizes fingerprints... or a bricked iPhone. And if a third-party repair shop bricks your iPhone, not only will you void your phone"s warranty, Apple may refuse to work on your phone at all. So, if you do decide to go with a third-party repair, make sure they offer a warranty on their service and any parts they replace.

We’re not going to pretend that shattering your iPhone screen is any fun (and if we did, would you believe us anyway?). It can be a costly and time-consuming ordeal, especially if you’re going into it without prior knowledge of what you’ll be dealing with.
The good news is, there are ways to minimize your loss of time and hard-earned cash, if you know where to look. Read on for a breakdown of all the different cost elements. We’ll show you in detail how much an iPhone screen repair will set you back.
According to the Apple website, you can repair a shattered iPhone screen twice in a 24-month period under AppleCare+ coverage at a cost of $29 each time. However, to calculate the actual cost of the iPhone screen repair, you must add in the price of the AppleCare+ plan, as well. That comes down to which model phone you have:
Add the $29 deductible to each of those, and to fix an iPhone screen it will cost anywhere from $227 for the iPhones 7 or 8, to $298 for an 11 Pro, Pro Max, XS, or XS Max.
While breaking your phone a second time within the 24-month coverage period will bring the average cost of a repair down, we don’t recommend it for obvious reasons. However, if you’re curious, that would put the cost of each repair somewhere between $128.50 and $163.50.
You can sign up for AppleCare+ for up to 60 days after you initially buy the device, but the coverage doesn’t start when you decide to buy the AppleCare+ insurance policy. Even if you buy AppleCare+ at a later time, you’re only insured for 24 months from the day you bought your iPhone. For that reason, if you know you’re going to want it, then it makes sense to tack it on at the time of purchase.
The other option is to finance your phone through the iPhone Upgrade Program. This program, if you haven’t heard of it before, allows you to pay for your phone monthly through Apple. At the end of the 12 month period, you’ll be eligible to upgrade to the latest iPhone model. AppleCare+ comes included with the monthly price, so if you’re prone to breaking iPhones or you like upgrading to the latest and greatest the minute it comes out, this could be the perfect solution for you.
Because Apple knows that not everyone lives within a reasonable distance of an Apple Store, if you can’t manage to secure onsite repairs you can drop your phone off at a UPS Store or order shipping materials and send it via the Post Office, and you don’t have to pay for shipping both ways. You’ll be without your iPhone for a while, but at least you won’t have to shell out another few bucks to send it out.
And while AppleCare+ does cover more than just a broken iPhone screen, it pays to bear in mind that the iPhone comes with a comprehensive warranty that covers manufacturer’s defects for a year, so if anything goes wrong that isn’t your fault, Apple will cover it anyway.
If you don’t buy AppleCare+ the price for a one time screen repair isn’t staggeringly more expensive. In fact, depending on which iPhone model you have, you may save quite a bit. Here’s a price list of how much it costs to replace an iPhone screen with Apple, by iPhone model:
As you can see, if you plan on using AppleCare+ for more than just screen repair, or if you plan on breaking your screen multiple times, it may be worth it. But when it comes to one-time screen repairs, it almost always pays to just go out of pocket.
