I have experienced the same issue, the LCD screen on my newish Mars (just received March 3rd 2020) developed a fractal-like spot (like that reported by another member in a recent post) so I bought a new screen rather than screw around with the warranty. Got new screen installed to find no exposure test rectangle or any images in a "dry-run" print. Gotta" thank Amazon Prime here, I did not care to screw around with any more self-repair, so I returned it for a replacement that arrives tomorrow.
FWIW; due to the screen"s inherently fragile nature, and that mickey-mouse connector¹ for the LCD cable, and I was extremely careful when installing the new LCD. I agree with all above, it would be quite a coincidence (and quite thoroughly unacceptable) that the MB failed while replacing a so-called "consumable" part.

Just like other prints from Elegoo, the Mars 3 Pro includes a generous number of accessories including the typical PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) that should be used with a resin 3D printer. This includes surgical-style masks and gloves as well as paper funnels with metal filters for cleaning the resin as it is poured back into a bottle. The metal scraper is used for removing parts from the platform while the yellow plastic scraper is used to gently clean the FEP film on the vat without scraping or causing damage.
Elegoo advertises the Mars 3 Pro as using a “PFA Release Film”, which has been designed to reduce the amount of adhesion between the part during printing and the film. Interestingly enough, I noticed that the Mars 3 Pro produced much less noise during lift moves than the original Mars 3, possibly due to this reduced adhesion.
This model prints flat on the build platform, and is difficult to remove using the metal scraper without applying a significant amount of force. I’m generally unimpressed with this demo model and believe that Elegoo should seriously consider changing it for future printers. Searching Google for “Elegoo Rook Stuck” provides many examples of first-time resin 3D printer users who are unsure how to safely remove the part from the platform.
The Elegoo Mars 3 Pro is an incremental improvement over the original Elegoo Mars 3, and whether or not it is worth the extra money depends on your typical usage of this style of printer. The tempered glass protector over the LCD makes it easy to clean or replace in case of a spill and the included air filter reduces the odor typically associated with resin printing. These two features alone are likely worth the extra $50, as the cost of a standalone filter and a glass screen protector is similar and still requires installation. In addition, the thin PFA release liner separates easily from printed parts and worked well during printing.

Because they are commonly used in other electronics, RGB masking LCDs are cheaper, but slower because they don’t allow UV light to pass through efficiently and need more exposure time per layer. How much build volume do you need?Most resin 3D printers have smaller build volumes than FDM 3D printers, so you may find yourself limited by this relatively small build volume. 2K, 4K, or Beyond?A resin 3D printer that uses a 6.08-inch 2K screen like the Elegoo Mars 2 Pro is capable of an XY resolution of .05mm as well as a layer height of .05mm. The 10-inch 8K masking LCD provides an ultra-high 0.0285mm XY resolution which allows even the finest details to resolve on printed models. We were particularly impressed when we printed a model that had a tiny, open book on a pedestal; the words on the pages were sharp and legible (though one might need a magnifying glass to see them).
