Okay, ran my test sketch that draws 640 coloured diagonal lines. Same sketch, same 3.2" BangGood screens on a Mega and a Due. Using my modified UTFT library, Due time 2752ms, Mega time 7224ms.
I got some stray piksels when I started with this display and UTFT. I had chosen a wrong controller. The error was here UTFT myGLCD(XXXX,38,39,40,41);
First I only buy displays that quote a controller on the website, then if it does not work and the display ID cannot be read then it is a "suck it and see" approach. Even with the wrong software driver you sometimes get at least something happen on the screen. David wrote a nice library that looks for the driver ID on Chinese "mcufriend" shields that makes finding out easier!
The ILI9481 based display is not quite so nice as the HX8357B/C ones, contrast ratio is down, the LEDs seem to run a little hot so perhaps the lack of contrast is because the LEDs are too bright as they are being driven with too much current. Also I get a "lot" of spurious pixels appearing and even distorted character images. So that is a clue that it is being drive too fast, indeed slowing down the write strobe by tweaking some #defines fixes it completely, the ILI9481 chip must need a longer data setup time than the HX8357 ones.
