The display LCD TFT is a kind of display screen that we are familiar with. Many intelligent terminal products use display LCD TFT. Liquid crystal is the most important part of display LCD TFT. Liquid crystal is a physical form, and this physical form can be used as a key factor in display by sorting. To understand the quality of display LCD wholesale tft module, we generally understand from the specific parameters. So what if the display LCD TFT is blurred? Now let Proculus introduce to you.

The LCD TFT display which becomes blurred and indistinct is divided into two cases: one is the display LCD TFT before installation, and the other is the display LCD TFT after a period of use. If you want to buy lcd module, you should the reasons for these two different time periods are also completely different.

Generally, the display LCD TFT is blurred before installation, which is likely to be the reason for the display LCD TFT itself. We generally check whether the driver is normal, and whether there is a problem with the chip and wiring. It is possible that there are some defects in the design of display LCD TFT, which leads to the blurred screen of display LCD TFT. This kind of situation needs to carry on the internal analysis to the TFT LCD display supplier and obtains the concrete solution.

There is another situation mentioned earlier, that is, it has been used for a period of time after installation, which leads to the blurring of the display LCD TFT. We need to check whether the connection with the motherboard is normal, whether the picture shows signs of jitter, whether the image can be seen clearly, and whether the tightness of the whole machine is poor, resulting in dust or water in the place where the motherboard is connected to the TFT LCD screen, all of which are likely to cause TFT LCD blurred screen. This kind of analysis should be combined with the TFT LCD screen itself, motherboard, structure and so on, and the steps are more complex.

The above content is the introduction to the treatment method of TFT LCD screen. With the continuous increase of TFT LCD display supplier, the competition in TFT LCD industry is becoming more and more fierce. The quality of many TFT LCD manufacturers is also uneven, and there is no lack of many black-hearted manufacturers to simplify the production process for profit, resulting in a lot of bad phenomena in the products. Therefore, we still have to pay more attention to the choice of TFT LCD suppliers.

There’re more than 300 procedures to produce TFT LCD. The most advanced LCD, in which the array and cell process are highly automatic. Technically, every step in the process can lead to defects, and most of the defects have been eliminated through the development of TFT LCD technology.

For the first two situations, that’s because the circuit on the TFT and CF controlling that defective pixel point is shorted or broken. While the third situation is caused by damaged color pixel.

In LCD, newton’s rings may occur on screen when two glass substrate haven’t been sealed well, so that one of the glass may form a convex lens and lead to light interference.

In LCD the light transit through two polarizers, which are arranged perpendicular, then through the liquid crystal layer. The layer can block the transition of the light or change polarization. Finally, the light falls on the color filters, which give it a set colorcreating the image.

The LCD TFT screens are built of thin-film transistors. The transistor is produced by chemical vapor deposition (CVD), based on the use of liquid hydrogen mixture and silicon mixture in an organic solvent, and using the rotation application method of the thin semiconductor.

In the TFT matrix, each pixel is controlled by four transistors, whereone of them is responsible for brightness, and three remain for basic color (red, blue, green). As a result, this solution allows the high resolution, better color and generally higher parameters of displayed images  – comparing to common LCD matrix.

Because of the material the TFT is built from, which isglass, TFT displays havelow mechanical toughness,so can be easily damaged. The most popular damage of TFT is:

The majority of damage occurs during the assembly process in the end user devices. Too much pressure on the fragile TFT construction can damage the structure of the liquid crystal or electric lines.

The module can be held strictly by the housing, and the unnecessary thrust on display should be avoided. The disassembling of the display housing is not recommended, because this process is very destructive and in most cases, it will leave you with a damaged TFT .

The most common display technology is liquid crystal displays (LCDs). Their applications include mobile phones, industrial meters, television, POS, smart homes, aerospace, automotive, military systems, gadgets, marine, etc.

If an LCD does have a white screen, it implies the backlight is working properly. Simply examine your signal input channels to determine the most likely causes.

It may also be affected by the display being completely disrupted by excessive heat, a shock that breaks the LCD controller, or a connection failure that requires professional repair.

Since LCD graphics are made up of RGB pixels, their display should not be as blurry as it was on old CRT displays. If you see blurry images, there are two possibilities;

§ The LCD"s surface is composed of a plastic film layer with maximum hardness. If you happen to clean the surface frequently or use the incorrect detergent or solvent, you will cause surface damage.

Others include a decline in screen or display contrast, broken glass, non-functioning pixel resolution or the entire display. Different types of LCD problems require different types of repair methods.

If you drop the LCD and discover it got broken on the surface but the display still works, you may have simply damaged the touch panel; you could replace it by finding a repair shop.

Backlight is used because LCD cannot emit light on its own. Usually, the backlight isn"t entirely driven; however, you can intensify the backlight to brighten a dim LCD screen.

To repair an LCD screen, you must first devise a way to fix the backlight. It is a simple task for some displays, although it can be challenging for others based on the process of manufacturing.

Liquid crystal displays (LCDs) are the most widely used display technology. Their applications cover TV, mobile phone, appliances, automotive, smart home, industrial meters, consumer electronics, POS, marine, aerospace, military etc. LCD screen display problem can occur for several reasons.

Effect of environmental conditions on the LCD assembly. Environmental conditions include both the effects of temperature and humidity, and cyclic loading.

Effect of manufacturing process. With the development of LCD for more than 40 years and the modern manufacturing equipment, this kind if defects are getting rear.

Common failures seen in LCDs are a decrease in screen contrast, non-functioning pixels or the whole display, and broken glass. Different kinds of LCD display problem need to have different kinds of fix methods or make the decision not worthwhile to repair.

Broken glassIf you accidently drop the LCD and you find it broken on the surface but the display still works. You might just break the touch panel; you can find a repair house or find a youtube video to replace the touch panel. If you find the display not showing, especially you find the fluid leaking out. You need to reply the whole display modules.

Dim LCD displayLCD can’t emit light itself. It uses backlight. Normally, the backlight is not fully driven, you can increase the LED backlight to make a dim LCD display brighter. But if you LCD display has been used for a long time, it is possible that the LED backlight has to be the end of life (not brightness enough) if you turn on 100% backlight brightness. In that case to fix LCD screen, you have to find a way to change the backlight. For some display, it is an easy job but it can be difficult for other displays depending on the manufacturing process.

LCD has white screen – If a LCD has a white screen which means the backlight is good. Simply check your signal input sources which are the most causes. It can also be caused by the display totally damaged by ESD or excess heat, shock which make the LCD controller broken or the connection failure which has to be repaired by professionals.

Blur ImagesAs the LCD images are made of RGB pixels, the screen shouldn’t be blur like old CRT displays. If you do see blur images, they might be caused by two reasons. 1) LCD has certain response time, if you are playing games or watch fast action movies, some old LCD displays can have image delays. 2) The surface of the LCD is made of a layer of plastic film with maximum hardness of 3H. If you clean the surface often or use the wrong detergent or solvent which cause the surface damage. To fix damage on LED screen it’s need to be changed with professionals.

Have you ever wonder where TFT derive from?  Why is TFT referred to as LCD?  The phenomenon started in early days, when bulky CRT displays were thing of the past and LCD was its replacement, but as time progresses, there were still room for improvement, which leads to the birth of TFT’s.

TFT is a variant of an LCD which uses thin film transistor technology to improve an image quality, while an LCD is class of displays that uses modulating properties of liquid crystals to form what we call an LCD (liquid crystals display) which in fact does not emits light directly.

Even though LCDs were very energy efficient, light weight and thin in nature, LCD were falling behind to the CRT display, which  then leads to a change in LCD manufacturing, where performance became a big problem.

For example, having a 2001 Mustang vs a 2014 Mustang, the dimensions and engine of the 2014 has been redesign for performance reasons, not mentioning user friendly, so does the LCD to TFT.

As the birth of TFT, the elements are deposited directly on the glass substrate which in fact the main reason for the switch was because TFTs are easier to produce, better performance in terms of adjusting the pixels within the display to get better quality.

LCDs became ineffective over a period of time, almost all aspect of watching a TV, playing video games or using a handheld device to surf the net became daunting, this phenomenon is known as high response time with low motion rate.

Another problem with LCD was crosstalking, in terms of pixelating, this happens when signals of adjacent pixels affects operations or gives an undesired effect to the other pixel.

As TFT’s become very popular throughout the century due to its elaborate low charge associate and outstanding response time, LCDs became a thing of the past, and TFT became the predominant technology with their wider viewing angles and better quality this technology will be around for a long time.

The TFT (Thin Film Transistor) LCD display screens of computers, laptops, televisions, and other devices are delicate. They need to be handled and maintained properly to keep them in good shape. Otherwise, the lack of maintenance can lead to glitches and other problems that could affect the entire device.

As a business owner, you should be aware of how to take care of the materials you use in your products. This way, you can assure your customers of quality goods and services. Here are some things to keep in mind when cleaning and maintaining TFT LCD display.

Avoid using abrasive materials like paper towels and newspaper in cleaning TFT LCD screens as they may scratch the surface. Instead, opt for a lint-free cloth. To remove dirt, you may use plain water or add a small amount of vinegar. However, don’t spray the liquid directly on the monitor, and remember to put gentle pressure when wiping the screen.

Though TFT LCDs look like glass, it’s important to remember that it’s plastic so that you can treat it as that. Given this, don’t use glass cleaners that have ammonia or alcohol in it as it could be harmful to the TFT LCD.

Don’t put heavy objects on top of TFT LCD module as it could damage the material and its components. Make sure it’s safe from anything that might scratch, wet, or hit it as the crystals sandwiched between two thin plastic sheets are electronically sensitive. Also, it shouldn’t be able to absorb any moisture as it won’t go away by itself and it might damage the entire display.

If you display laptops in your store, make sure that you also clean the keyboards and not just the LCD screen. This is because folding down the lid exposes the screen to keyboard dust, dirt, and other contaminants. So, it’s necessary to keep the entire device clean to protect the TFT LCD.

These are only some of the ways to properly handle TFT LCD screens. It’s best to ask your supplier for tips on how to take care of the materials to ensure that they’re always in top condition.

I have a number of IPS LCDs in my Arduino and RaspberryPI toolbox but I didn"t have this one. What I did like about the product initially is that the PCB pins are labeled on both sides. I also liked the fact that they give you both right angle and straight pins to solder to. But it ends there.

Nevertheless, I soldered on the connector and lit it up. Once it was lit up, it was obvious that not all the column drivers were lighting the pixels evenly. When I ran full screen color test, it became really obvious under pure white that the LCD itself had been damaged during production or mis-adhered with whatever tape or glue they were using. It looked like someone clamped it too hard because there was a distinct distortion that was to one side the display. It looked like either a clamp had been secured to tightly during the production process or the adhesive the bonded the display to the board was warping the LCD itself. Either way, these were an unacceptable pair of defects and made the display look awful.

IPS (in-plane switching) is a screen technology for liquid-crystal displays (LCDs). In IPS, a layer of liquid crystals is sandwiched between two glass surfaces. The liquid crystal molecules are aligned parallel to those surfaces in predetermined directions (in-plane). The molecules are reoriented by an applied electric field, whilst remaining essentially parallel to the surfaces to produce an image. It was designed to solve the strong viewing angle dependence and low-quality color reproduction of the twisted nematic field effect (TN) matrix LCDs prevalent in the late 1980s.

The TN method was the only viable technology for active matrix TFT LCDs in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Early panels showed grayscale inversion from up to down,Vertical Alignment (VA)—that could resolve these weaknesses and were applied to large computer monitor panels.

Shortly thereafter, Hitachi of Japan filed patents to improve this technology. A leader in this field was Katsumi Kondo, who worked at the Hitachi Research Center.thin-film transistor array as a matrix and to avoid undesirable stray fields in between pixels.Super IPS). NEC and Hitachi became early manufacturers of active-matrix addressed LCDs based on the IPS technology. This is a milestone for implementing large-screen LCDs having acceptable visual performance for flat-panel computer monitors and television screens. In 1996, Samsung developed the optical patterning technique that enables multi-domain LCD. Multi-domain and in-plane switching subsequently remain the dominant LCD designs through 2006.

In this case, both linear polarizing filters P and A have their axes of transmission in the same direction. To obtain the 90 degree twisted nematic structure of the LC layer between the two glass plates without an applied electric field (OFF state), the inner surfaces of the glass plates are treated to align the bordering LC molecules at a right angle. This molecular structure is practically the same as in TN LCDs. However, the arrangement of the electrodes e1 and e2 is different. Because they are in the same plane and on a single glass plate, they generate an electric field essentially parallel to this plate. The diagram is not to scale: the LC layer is only a few micrometers thick and so is very small compared with the distance between the electrodes.

Unlike TN LCDs, IPS panels do not lighten or show tailing when touched. This is important for touch-screen devices, such as smartphones and tablet computers.

Toward the end of 2010 Samsung Electronics introduced Super PLS (Plane-to-Line Switching) with the intent of providing an alternative to the popular IPS technology which is primarily manufactured by LG Display. It is an "IPS-type" panel technology, and is very similar in performance features, specs and characteristics to LG Display"s offering. Samsung adopted PLS panels instead of AMOLED panels, because in the past AMOLED panels had difficulties in realizing full HD resolution on mobile devices. PLS technology was Samsung"s wide-viewing angle LCD technology, similar to LG Display"s IPS technology.

“Blanview” is Toppan’s unique TFT-LCD technology enabling the display to create high contrast and crisp images even in bright circumstances where a sunlight hit to display surface directly.

With leveraging Toppan’s high-quality amorphous silicon (a-Si) technology “HAST” (Hyper Amorphous Silicon TFT), which has been fostered in our 40-years-long display expertise, Toppan succeeded in generating new type TFT-LCD with a good balance between 2 values - “Sunlight Readable” and “Low Power Consumption”

Transmissive-typeis the most common LCD technology that is widely used in many electrical devices. Transmissive can provide clear images in indoor and dark situations, but meanwhile its display readability gets worse in bright outdoor situations. Backlight power increase can improve the display visibility somewhat, but it lead to boost total power consumption; this may be critical impact to battery-driven handheld devices.

Transflective-typeis suitable LCD technology to outdoor applications. Transflective has pixels divided into 2 areas, Transmission and Reflection area; the reflection area (reflective electrode) takes a role to reflect incident light from outside. This can give a clear display readability as well as low power consumption; however, the panel transmittance (backlight efficiency) becomes rather lower due to a 2-divided pixel structure. As a result, Transflective inherently has a drawback of large power consumption in indoor or dark conditions. Complex pixel structure furthermore cause a problem that a color level changes indoors and outdoors; generally white color tends to gain yellowish outdoors.

This chart shows backlight power consumption required to secure enough display readability with transmissive LCD, transflective LCD and Blanview LCD respectively.

Blanview TFT-LCD is most appropriate display to electronic equipment, facilities and devices which may be used in “sometimes outdoor, sometimes indoor”. Low-Power-Consumption advantage will extend a battery life of handheld devices.

This is another story just like those, except this one involves the very screen you’re probably looking at, especially if it’s based on LCD technology.

In the 1970s, a pair of engineers that worked for Westinghouse, T. Peter Brody and Fang-Chen Luo, came to develop the first active-matrix LCD screen. Brody, born in Hungary, had gained an interest in the fledgling technology of thin film transistors, an experimental technology that had come to be seen as a potential avenue for visually displaying content in a more compact form than a cathode-ray tube.

In fact, Westinghouse’s efforts with the flat-panel LCD display ended way back in the 1970s, as did similar efforts at other large U.S. companies. “Both large corporations and venture capital-backed start-ups have quit the field, usually after hitting production difficulties,” authors Richard Florida and David Browdy wrote.
