If you are a first-time customer you will create your personal Zynewave account as the first step on the purchase checkout page. When you log in to your account you will have access to all your Podium downloads and you will be able to post on the forums.

Zynewave uses PayPal to handle secure online payments. It is not required that you have a PayPal account. You can pay directly with credit-card on the PayPal website. Once your payment has been verified you will receive an email with download links.

You will need multiple Podium software licenses if you are purchasing on behalf of more than one user. To purchase multiple licenses please contact Zynewave with your request.

Zynewave does not allow you to sell or transfer your Podium license. This restriction allows Zynewave to eliminate the time and cost of handling license transfers. It helps to maintain the low Podium purchase price, and also allows Zynewave to devote time better spent on the continued development of Podium.

Podium releases uses the standard major.minor.revision version numbering system. Each major and minor release incrementally adds new features. Each revision release contains optimizations and bug-fixes. During your upgrade period you get access to all upgrades, including major version upgrades.

If you let the upgrade period expire you still keep your Podium license and you can continue to use the Podium releases you downloaded during your upgrade period. You can at any time in the future purchase an upgrade renewal.

Zynewave recommends that you try the Podium demo on your PC and make sure that everything is working. There is always a risk that different hardware configurations can cause unexpected problems. Zynewave does not offer a refund of your purchase if you find that Podium does not work on your PC.

No software activation is required to install and use Podium. Different types of copy-protection are today widely used in the software industry. Copy-protection systems are however a nuisance to everyone except those that use illegal cracked software. Zynewave has chosen not to implement any copy-protection in Podium.

The downloaded zip file contains the Podium x86 and Podium x64 installers. Copy the desired installer to the PC where you want to use Podium, and run the installer there.

When you run the installer, any existing installation of an older Podium x86 or x64 version will automatically be removed. The Podium.ini setup file will not be removed, so your Podium setup customizations are not affected. Podium x86 and Podium x64 can be installed side by side.

The installer is a standard Windows Installer package. The installer does not use any form of copy-protection. Once Podium is installed it does not require further authorization.

To get the best audio performance in Podium you should use an ASIO driver for your sound card. If your sound card does not come with an ASIO driver, or if you experience problems with the ASIO driver, Zynewave recommends that you try the free ASIO4ALL generic driver:

Podium is available in builds for both x86 and x64 Windows platforms. Each Podium build supports VST plugins made for the same platform. jBridge is a tool that wraps VST plugin files, allowing you to for example use x86 VST plugins in Podium x64. Podium detects if jBridge is installed on your PC, and utilizes it to scan and load VST plugins:

Podium banners and signs are a great way to have your reputation precede you. It’s a reflection of who you are and what you represent. Podium and lectern signage is no different than your business card or website. If you have invested in your branding, that will evoke a certain response. That’s how important a podium banner is adorned on a lectern! Because of this, you know that your podium sign or podium banner can be no less than perfect. You didn’t skimp on your brand so ‘short changing’ yourself here makes absolutely no sense. Whether you are a College, Corporate or motivational speaker, your colors, and design needs to pack a punch at the podium. Break through the forgettable signage – That’s not you. You’ll be choosing from our Pantone color library that will yield a color accuracy the “out of the box” colors or “random colored fabric” can not match. Podium banners can be made with or without wood ball finials.

From simple to complex, Giant Printing has the capabilities of leveraging all the colors of your brand against just about any podium background using our Made in America fabric. We do not screen or iron-on images to your podium banners. Your podium banner or signage will not only be visually engaging with optional features like “V” cut bottom, but are machine washable, won’t crack or peel, and have a durability that no Vinyl counterpart could hold a candle to. Each includes one pole pocket (dowel sleeve) on the top and .5” hems on the sides and bottom. Just ask about all the other available options. Our Standard size is 22” x 30”, but don’t worry, we can custom make signs for your podium or lectern to fit any size.

Podium Banners are draped over the podium on stage at an indoor or outdoor event, speech, or presentation. Ideal for presentations, Custom Podium Banners are specifically cut to give your podium a personal touch. Our Podium Banners are a great branding solution for presenting in front of an audience from a lectern or podium, or even on a table top.

Often mistakenly called a podium, a lectern is the object/piece of furniture behind which the speaker/presenter stands and upon which he/she sets the papers, book, lap-top, Kindle, etc.  They typically stand about 45” high with a slanted top for better viewing of the presenting notes.  A podium (plural “podia”) is a platform that is used to raise something a short distance above its surroundings. “Pod” is Greek in origin and means “foot” or “base” as in “podiatrist.”  Lecterns often sit on podiums (but not always), thus the confusion.

Though more expensive, well worth the investment. They are a small, all-in-one stand and microphone that are very user- friendly as they can be easily adjusted to a proper position with just two fingers. The pick-up characteristics of condenser microphones are also much more forgiving in regards to angle and proximity. It is this combination of advantages, plus the fact they look much better too, that make it a superior choice as a lectern microphone.

The Environment tab contains Podium"s global settings for background, sky, lighting intensity, and several on/off checkboxes that control miscellaneous render settings.

When "Default" is selected, Podium will use your current SketchUp background color and/or SketchUp Sky settings (set in your SketchUp Style) for the background color of the rendered image. The default setting is a good way to render with a solid background color of your choosing.

Tip — There are five custom SketchUp styles in a Podium folder that can be used with the default background setting. Dark, Dark night, and Twilight are all suitable for rendering night scenes. With the .rbz install, you will need to install these Podium Styles manually. See here. Select "Podium" from the styles drop-down to access these styles.

When "Physical Sky 1 or 2" is selected, Podium calculates and displays sky turbidity (haziness caused by particles suspended in the atmosphere) and depth. Physical Sky will ignore the SketchUp background colors but rather is controlled by the preset variables, time day and year, location. Physical Sky will only be on when SketchUp Shadows are on.

Podium"s second physical sky option was designed to give users a more realistic representation of physical light levels seen toward the beginning and end of the day

About the chart: This chart illustrates the difference between Podium"s two physical sky options, rendered using Exterior 1.07 preset at summer solstice, with default Intensity & Exposure values. All items, grass, treeline, and clouds, can be found in the Podium Browser.

Podium Physical Sky 1: Podium"s physical sky simulates a clear day using the date and time set in SketchUp. Physical Sky 1 improves upon the result given by SketchUp"s default background, however this 1st version of the Podium sky often produces unwanted brightness and unnatural color shifts near dusk and dawn.

Podium Physical Sky 2: The second version corrects those two issues by giving more realistic sunrises and sunsets, with no unwanted colors below the horizon. During daylight hours, Physical Sky 2 is slightly brighter with a more cyan tone than Physical Sky 1. For this reason, we kept the first physical sky, which remains a useful option for daytime renderings.

There are situations that you do not want the physically accurate sky simulation. You may want to do a night rendering or need others atmospheres or you may find the physical sky is too bright and want to control background light with SketchUp colors.

When HDR/IBL is activated, it becomes both the background of the render and the primary light source, replacing the SketchUp sun/shadow system and Podium Physical skies.

If this option is turned on, the rendered image will display an information bar at the bottom of the image. The information will contain the Podium version, rendering engine version number, preset used, time to render and the pixel size of the image. This is useful information to have when you contact Cadalog for support or share information on the Forum.

SU Podium Version 2.x supports color in reflections of light passing through colored translucent material. This is most apparent in material that only has color but not textures. For example, the below example if of transparent material that only has colors. If these materials had texture images in them, the color reflection would not render.

SU Podium has a feature called Automatic Materials. When this is on (default), Podium will recognize SketchUp standard material names in your model and assign pre-defined, photo-realistic material properties to these specific SketchUp materials, automatically. This should reduce the amount of time you may spend setting up your model for photo-realistic renderings, IF you are using SketchUp standard materials. Automatic Materials will have no effect on imported textures/ materials. Please read or watch the video regarding Automatic Materials here.

An overview of the SU Podium user interface is given in the following video. This is the first of ten videos in the SU Podium V2.6 getting started series — Start here if you are new to Podium.

The full version of SU Podium includes both fixed sizes and custom image sizes. The trial version has limited resolution sizes—that is, trial users will not be able to render larger than their viewport resolution.

Viewport resolution: Rendered image will match your SketchUp viewport resolution size. In other words, the image resolution will match the pixel size of your SketchUp viewport. For example, if you have a 1600 x 900 pixel computer screen and the SketchUp viewport is full screen, then your rendered image resolution will be close to 1600 X 900 pixels.

Fixed sizes: Fixed image sizes include 230x150, 640x480, 1024x768, 2048x1536, 3076x2304, 4076x3304, and wide-screen resolutions with 16:9 aspect ratios of 852x480, 1600x900, 1920x1080.

Custom: Custom sizes mean that you can enter any arbitrary pixel height and width such as 8000 x 5000. Keep in mind that you should chose a resolution that matches the aspect ratio of your computer"s monitor if you want the entire SketchUp viewport to be rendered. The maximum resolution supported by Podium is 9999 x 9999px. If you need a larger render, pleae see this workaround.

SU Podium V2.x gives you the option to choose PNG/JPG/HDR as saved image formats. The Transparent option refers to Podium"s ability to render to PNG file format with a transparent alpha channel. This allows you to add your own background in post-processing. Please see the transparent section. HDR is supported in the Podium Image Editor. If you choose .hdr and are using SU Podium V2.6 and open Edit (which opens the Podium Image Editor), you will immediately see an option to use Adaptive Linear Tonemapping.

By default, SU Podium V2.x will save the final rendered image to the same folder where the SketchUp model is saved. However you can select Custom to save to a folder of your choice. After selecting custom, click on the Browse button to choose the folder on your computer you would like to save the final rendered images to.

With the PNG format on, Transparent will create rendered images with alpha transparent backgrounds so that you can easily add your own sky background image to rendered .png file in an image editor program.

The Environment tab contains all settings pertaining to natural lighting from the SketchUp sun and sky system, as well as HDR image-based lighting (new in SU Podium V2.6).
