FLO, DR. or DRY errors commonly occur due to debris and blockages. They can usually be easily fixed with some simple hot tub troubleshooting steps, such as cleaning your filters and topping off your water level. Learn more about what these error messages actually mean and what you can do to fix it.

If your tub is displaying this message it simply means that there is an issue with water flow. This may occur for a number of reasons. On your spa’s heater, there are sensors that read water pressure or there may be a pressure switch. These determine the error. The most common reasons for the FLO error message are dirty filters, a low water level, clogged circulation pumps or bad sensors.

The first thing you should do is check your tub’s water level. Top it off and see if this fixes the problem. Reset the tub GFI breaker to see if the error clears. If this simple fix doesn’t solve the problem, it may be time to check your hot tub filter.

The next thing to do is remove your tub filter cartridges. If the error clears, it was likely the fault of dirty filters. Clean your filters before putting them back in your tub to ensure the error message doesn’t pop up again.

If your hot tub is still showing the message, it may be your circulation pump causing the problem. Check your circulation pump for any debris that may be clogging it. Also, make sure that it has power going into it. If your circulation pump is clogged, you might be hearing a whining noise. If there is no clear issue to the circulation pump, consult a professional to find out if you need a new one.

This error message is similar to the FLO error message. Like FLO issues, this can commonly be fixed by topping off your hot tub water level. DR or DRY will show up if there is little to no water travelling through your heater. There are a few simple things you can do to fix this problem. However, turn off the GFI and manually disconnect the power to the pump and heater before troubleshooting.

If your water level is fine, first ensure you don’t have too many closed jets and that they aren’t filled with debris. If your jets are clear, check for any blockages in the suction fitting and skimmer. Also, make sure that all of your hot tub’s valves are correctly closed. Dirty filters can also be the culprit for this error message, so checking them is a good idea. Restart the pump and heater to see if the error message is gone.

There are generally two "hard resets" in hot tubs, the GFCI, and the high limit reset. The GFCI pops if there is any type of electrical short (such as water getting into the heating element, the reset on that can be in one of three places. 1-at the circuit breaker, 2-at the plug outlet or on the end of the cord (110 volt models, or 3- on the pack located near the heater chamber.

The high limit pops if the water in the heater chamber gets to hot, this interrupts the heating circuit. Generally speaking, it"s a small red button that is also located on the control pack, if it is out (stiff), then it is popped. There are many different brands, about 95% are this way.

Ensure the hot tub is heating. If the hot tub is not heating, the light is blinking because the water temperature has dropped more than 2 degrees from the set temperature. If this is the case and the hot tub is not heating, please see our article on "What Do I Do If My Hot Tub Stopped Heating". If the hot tub is heating, proceed to the next step.

If the hot tub is heating and you have an ACE-equipped model or a FreshWater-equipped salt water model, the salt system is most likely requiring attention. Go into your control panel and select the Salt Water option. Read the message and follow the on-screen instructions.

If the hot tub is not equipped with either salt water system, power the tub off at the breaker or unplug. Remove the filter(s). Leave the tub powered off for 1-2 min. Then, power the tub back on and leave the filters out of the spa. If the light is still flashing, please call to schedule a visit with a technician. If the light stops flashing you will want to clean your filter in a soaking solution or replace depending on the age of the filters.

The legacy of the museum"s founder, Sylvester "Hawk" Francis, is ever present through pieces of the suits he wore while masking with the Spirit of Fi Yi Yi tribe and archival footage of him in parades and at the city"s Jazz Fest. His daughter, Dominique Francis Dilling, is carrying on the torch for her father, who died in 2020, as she now serves as the museum"s executive director.
