Most screens you will find on eBay come with one of two main types of coating. Each coating makes slight changes to how images, videos, or colors are displayed. Both coatings are useful depending on your situation or usual working environment. The two main types of finishes you can choose from are:Matte: Matte finishes have anti-glare properties that might make it easier to see images and videos even in direct light. You may find this type of Chromebook screen useful if you work in bright environments.
Glossy: A glossy display produces vibrant colors and intense monochromes. However, reflections from lights may be more noticeable on these displays. You might find this coating advantageous if you usually work in an environment without a lot of light sources. Can you choose a replacement screen size?

My rep Jay Haugen is great. I was buying from someone else and he called to see if we had any other needs, because we only bought screens from you. My rep at the time never communicated or returned calls. I asked jay for a quote for the same of what I was buying. I got it right away and switched over. He has been great. So glad I moved from CDW to ChromebookParts.

The initial cost of a Chromebook is generally far less expensive that traditional computers. (But the greatest cost savings of Chromebooks are in the areas of implementation, support and maintenance.) Chromebooks are generally less expensive in part due to manufacturing decisions such as (in some models) making the RAM an integral part of the mainboard; While this reduces cost, integrating discrete parts makes local repair of a Chromebook less feasible. While it might make financial sense to spend $300 to repair a $1,500 legacy computer, spending $300 to repair a $199 Acer C720 would be financially indefensible.
It may cost between $50 to $200 to repair a Chromebook. This will be mostly for labor as Chromebook parts are typically very cheap. For most people, the decision to replace a computer comes down to cost. Since a basic desktop computer starts at around $300 and a laptop around $500, most people consider replacing their system when a repair will cost $300 or more. However, there are a few hidden expenses to keep in mind before you buy a new PC.
Many consumers" first thought about repairing a Chromebook is that it is relatively inexpensive to buy in the first place, should I just get a new one? Although it is true that Chromebooks are less expensive than conventional laptops there are still many economical repairs that can be done. The general guideline is that if the repair is less than 65% of the cost of buying a new one it is well worth it.
For example if you bought your Chromebook for $399 and have broken the screen, your options are, really, to buy the same or equivalent model again at full price, or to replace the screen. A typical screen replacement price for a Chromebook model costing $399 brand new would be ~$179 -- 45% of the full cost of buying a new one (less than half!).
The cost to repair your Acer Chromebook Tab 10 screen totally depends on which method you choose to fix it up. Few of the methods are like getting it fixed from authorized Acer service center or getting it fixed by a local repair shop in your area or to do it yourself.
* The 1st option is to go to authorized Acer service center. They will charge a hefty amount on the same, but this will ensure 100% genuine replacement screen with warranty. Means this is the only method to ensure that you will get 100% genuine original screen and will get some limited time warranty on the part.
* The 2nd option is to go to some local mobile repair shop in your area, where you can get your Acer Chromebook Tab 10 repaired for a better price deal but this won"t ensure good quality part and an unreliable warranty. Just make sure that you don"t get fooled by a shop who claims to have a original screen for a higher price. Do you really think he can have tie ups with Acer and get original genuine parts from them? The only way these shops can have a original screen is if they took out the screen from some other phone.
* The 3rd and the best option is to get a high quality replacement LCD Screen with Touch Digitizer for your Acer Chromebook Tab 10 from a reliable online store (like maxbhi.com) and get it fitted from the local repair shop for just 200-300 Rs. This way you will get a good quality display screen with good prices and a reliable warranty. You can even try to do this yourself with the help of youtube videos and phone opening toolkit for Acer Chromebook Tab 10.
I’ve heard from a number of readers over the years that they don’t like the lack of repairability from Chromebooks. It’s a fair point; if something breaks you either have to hope you can get manufacturer support or the issue is something you can fix yourself with aftermarket parts.
It turns out I could. Even better, it was simple to do, didn’t cost me that much and, more importantly, I found out that this can also be done with Chromebook screens.
First a quick note about TN and IPS panels. This image below gives you an idea of the difference. It’s from LaptopScreen.com, which is who I worked with for my display replacement. They’re not a sponsor and I have no affiliate relationship with them. I just had a good experience as a paying customer.
If you’ve ever bought a low-end Chromebook and the colors change as you view the screen from different angles, you’re likely looking at a low-cost TN panel. That’s what came with my HP laptop: A 15.6-inch 1920 x 1080 TN panel.
Working with the customer support folks at LaptopScreen.com, they pointed me to an IPS replacement panel in the same size and resolution. Additionally, it had the same 30-pin connector as my laptop; there are typically either 30- or 40-pin connectors used these days.
Once my replacement screen arrived, I carefully removed the plastic bezel around the display. This is pretty standard as the first step on a laptop or Chromebook. There are plastic clips all around the bezel, so you have to be careful. But once you get one of them undone — I used a thin plastic card to get started — they all generally come off easy.
Once I removed the bezel and put it aside, I had to heat up the back of my laptop with a heat gun because as I found out in the HP Maintenance manual for my laptop, the display is attached to the laptop with double-sided tape. This is not typical, however. On most laptops and Chromebooks, there are four small screws, one in each corner that holds the display to the device.
With the tape heated up enough to loosen up the adhesive, I was able to pull the screen out. It was attached to the laptop chassis by the display cable, which is simple to unplug. Just be careful when doing this.
I don’t have pictures of the old TN panel on this particular laptop, but here’s the end result with the IPS screen. You can see that that viewing angles are excellent and there’s no off-center color shift:
Again, while I used a traditional laptop to demonstrate this, everything I’ve outlined applies to Chromebooks as well. I searched for and found dozens of support Chromebook models supported by LaptopScreen.com. You’ll also find customer videos showing the same process I used.
In my case, a little bit of time and $54 was well worth the investment. You can use this approach to replace a cracked or defective Chromebook display and, depending on the model, you may even find screen upgrade options that weren’t made available from the manufacturer when you bought your Chromebook!
