getting straight to the point, i"m very happy with this replacement screen because it only cost around $30 and has the same resolution and responsiveness as the original screen. it does have a few quirks like turning crazy colors in 20 degree weather and not being visible through polarized glasses, but that"s fine with me, especially when it only cost $30. the full story is below.

so, i cracked my screen by dropping my iphone 6. i saw that the new screens were only about $30 so i figured why not try replacing it before buying a new phone. i didn"t have very high expectations though because i"ve tried taking apple products apart before and it"s never gone very well for me in the past. the first thing i"d say is watch a youtube video on how to take your phone apart. the second thing is watch that video again. then as you take your phone apart be very careful with the pieces and make sure to put all the screws on a plastic tray or something so you don"t lose them. the plastic case that the screen comes in is actually a decent place to put the screws. i"d put the pieces associated with each part (the camera, home button, etc) in a separate place because the screws are all different.

i broke the selfie camera and the home button when replacing the screen. well, actually the home button still works but the fingerprint scanner doesn"t work anymore. i don"t really care about that though. fixing the camera was really easy though. I just ordered " EShine Replacement Proximity Sensor Light Motion Flex Cable with Front Face Camera for iPhone 6 4.7 Models A1549 (GSM), A1549 (CDMA) , A1586 , A1589 + EShine Cloth" on amazon and installed it and it worked great.

so all in all i"d say that the screen works way better than i expected. it"s not exactly like the original though. the quality is as good as the original in terms of resolution and responsiveness. but i"ve noticed that if i look at the screen with polarized sunglasses it"s totally dark whereas the original apple screen wasn"t. not sure why that is but it doesn"t really bother me.

the only other thing i"ve noticed so far is that that i went running with my phone and held it out exposed in the air in my glove in about 20-30 degree F weather and the screen started turning all sorts of crazy colors. initially i thought it broke but then when i came back inside it worked normally again after warming up for 2-3 minutes, so i guess the screen just can"t handle the cold very well. that doesn"t really bother me either though. now when i go running i tend to put it inside my glove instead of holding it in my glove exposed to the air and it doesn"t turn crazy colors when i do that.
