Well first of all, text panels and LCDs are the same, they are IMyTextPanel blocks and thus share the same features, work the same but merely got different names and models.

You have to take ownership over the block in order to change the settings for it. Once you did that you have to change the display text to either public or private and then change the according text fields to contain whatever text you want inside it.

Battery , AddInfoThat will help telling the two output modes (alternative data sources) apart, by putting one of the following small texts between the central symbol and the percentage value.

Additionally in the MultiIcon view, the SingleIcon view, the NoIcons view and the just Text mode, you can set the the available width for the textlines with Length=(followed by a decimal number)

FSD can clone the text content of other displays. These texts can be fixed or could be generated by other scripts (like Automatic LCDs 2 by MMaster or Isy"s Inventory Manager)

LCD Panel, clone:0 position(100,50) fontsize=0.5 TextColor(255,128,0)This would clone the text contend of the first screen of the block "LCD Panel" to the position (x=100 y=50) in an orange color with a font size of 0.5.

The same rules about the RGB values, brackets, the missing pace between "...Color" and the opening bracket "(" etc. like for the default view mode and the SingleIcon view mode apply here too.

This also true when only using Text: after the Separator character without using any block/group name. (resulting in only a simple text line with the specified color)

This way you can ether reduce the number of LCD Panels needed or greatly enhance the amount of information you can display with a given set of screens/panels.

For this purpose (and many others) you can add a special keyword line starting with "FSD options:" into the Custom Data field of the PB (running FSD v2) itself.

Caution: There has to be no space between "layoutrate" and the equals sign "="This will set the rate of changes for the screen layouts. (in changes per minute)

You can overide individual LCD/Cockpit screen settings by using a special keyword line starting with "FSD options:" in the Custom Data field of the Programmable block itself.

All keywords for this override options must be in a single line and this line must be located above an optional "ShowStats" line or else the used keywords affect only the LCD panels of the Programmable block.

Only "FSD options:" is case sensitive. All other keywords for the overide options are not case sensitive. Different keyword can be strung together but must be seperated with " " , "," or ":"

The same is true for the rate of display layout changesYou can turn the rate up or down. But it due to visual reasons it should remain a fraction of the FpM.

The various LCD Panel blocks are a great way to add a human touch to a ship or base by displaying useful images or text. For LCD configuration and usage, see LCD Surface Options.

Note: Some functional blocks, such as Cockpits, Programmable Blocks, Custom Turret Controllers, and Button Panels, have customizable LCD surfaces built in that work the same way as LCD Panel blocks, which are also discussed in detail under LCD Surface Options.

LCD Panels need to be built on a powered grid to work. Without power, they display an "Offline" text. While powered without having a text, image, or script set up, they display "Online".

LCD Panel blocks come in a variety of sizes from tiny to huge (see list below) and are available for large and small grid sizes. Note that LCD Panel blocks all have connections on their backs, and very few also on a second side.

All LCD Panels and LCD surfaces work with the same principle: They are capable of displaying dynamic scripts, or few inbuilt static images accompanied by editable text. Access the ship"s Control Panel Screen to configure LCD Panels or LCD surfaces; or face the LCD Panel block and press "K".

A Text Panel, despite its name, can also display images. On large grid, it is rectangular and does not fully cover the side of a 1x1x1 block. On small grid it is 1x1x1, the smallest possible LCD block in game.

On large grid, you choose the Text Panel when you need something that has rectangular dimensions that make it look like a wall-mounted TV or computer screen. If you want to display images, this one works best with the built-in posters whose names end in "H" or "V" (for horizontal or vertical rotation). On Small grid, you place these tiny display surfaces so you can see them well while seated in a cockpit or control seat, to create a custom display array of flight and status information around you.

Corner LCDs are much smaller display panels that typically hold a few lines of text. They don"t cover the block you place them on and are best suited as signage for doors, passages, or containers. They are less suitable for displaying images, even though it"s possible. If you enable the "Keep aspect ratio" option, the image will take up less than a third of the available space.

These huge Sci-Fi LCD Panels come in sizes of 5x5, 5x3, and 3x3 blocks, and can be built on large grids only. These panels are only available to build if you purchase the "Sparks of the Future" pack DLC.

They work the same as all other LCD Panels, the only difference is that they are very large. In the scenario that comes with the free "Sparks of the Future" update, they are used prominently as advertisement boards on an asteroid station.

This LCD panel can be built on large and small grids. The transparent LCD is basically a 1x1x1 framed window that displays images and text. It is part of the paid "Decorative Blocks Pack #2" DLC.

What is special about them is that if you set the background color to black, this panel becomes a transparent window with a built-in display. In contrast to other LCD Panels it has no solid backside, which makes it ideal to construct transparent cockpit HUDs, or simply as cosmetic decoration.

While configuring an LCD Panel, the GUI covers up the display in-world and you can"t see how the text or images comes out. In the UI Options, you can lower the UI Background opacity to be translucent, so you can watch what you are doing more easily.

A seven-segment display is a form of electronic display device for displaying decimal numerals that is an alternative to the more complex dot matrix displays.

Seven-segment displays are widely used in digital clocks, electronic meters, basic calculators, and other electronic devices that display numerical information.

For many applications, dot-matrix LCDs have largely superseded LED displays in general, though even in LCDs, seven-segment displays are common. Unlike LEDs, the shapes of elements in an LCD panel are arbitrary since they are formed on the display by photolithography. In contrast, the shapes of LED segments tend to be simple rectangles, reflecting the fact that they have to be physically moulded to shape, which makes it difficult to form more complex shapes than the segments of 7-segment displays. However, the high recognition factor of seven-segment displays, and the comparatively high visual contrast obtained by such displays relative to dot-matrix digits, makes seven-segment multiple-digit LCD screens very common on basic calculators.

The seven-segment display has inspired type designers to produce typefaces reminiscent of that display (but more legible), such as New Alphabet, "DB LCD Temp", "ION B", etc.

Using a restricted range of letters that look like (upside-down) digits, seven-segment displays are commonly used by school children to form words and phrases using a technique known as "calculator spelling".

Seven-segment displays may use a liquid crystal display (LCD), a light-emitting diode (LED) for each segment, an electrochromic display, or other light-generating or controlling techniques such as cold cathode gas discharge (Panaplex), vacuum fluorescent (VFD), incandescent filaments (Numitron), and others. For gasoline price totems and other large signs, vane displays made up of electromagnetically flipped light-reflecting segments (or "vanes") are still commonly used. A precursor to the 7-segment display in the 1950s through the 1970s was the cold-cathode, neon-lamp-like nixie tube. Starting in 1970, RCA sold a display device known as the Numitron that used incandescent filaments arranged into a seven-segment display.electroluminescent display.

Multiple-digit LED displays as used in pocket calculators and similar devices used multiplexed displays to reduce the number of I/O pins required to control the display. For example, all the anodes of the A segments of each digit position would be connected together and to a driver circuit pin, while the cathodes of all segments for each digit would be connected. To operate any particular segment of any digit, the controlling integrated circuit would turn on the cathode driver for the selected digit, and the anode drivers for the desired segments; then after a short blanking interval the next digit would be selected and new segments lit, in a sequential fashion. In this manner an eight digit display with seven segments and a decimal point would require only 8 cathode drivers and 8 anode drivers, instead of sixty-four drivers and IC pins.

The seven segments are arranged as a rectangle of two vertical segments on each side with one horizontal segment on the top, middle, and bottom. Often the rectangle is hexagons, though trapezoids and rectangles can also be used), though in the case of adding machines, the vertical segments are longer and more oddly shaped at the ends in an effort to further enhance readability. The seven elements of the display can be lit in different combinations to represent the Arabic numerals.

The segments are referred to by the letters A to G, where the optional decimal point (an "eighth segment", referred to as DP) is used for the display of non-integer numbers.gfedcba and abcdefg. In the gfedcba representation, a byte value of 0x06 would turn on segments "c" and "b", which would display a "1".

In Unicode 13.0, 10 codepoints had been given for segmented digits 0–9 in the Symbols for Legacy Computing block, to replicate early computer fonts that included seven-segment versions of the digits.

Four binary bits are needed to specify the numbers 0–9, but can also specify 10–15, so usually decoders with 4 bit inputs can also display Hexadecimal (Hex) digits. Today, a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters is commonly used for A–F;

Short messages giving status information (e.g. "no dISC" on a CD player) are also commonly represented on 7-segment displays. In the case of such messages it is not necessary for every letter to be unambiguous, merely for the words as a whole to be readable.

For "6" and "9", the CD4511B, MC14558B, TC5002, SN74x46/SN74x47/SN74x48/SN74x49 displays both numbers without a "tail", where "x" is the TTL logic family.

The 7446/7447/7448/7449Siemens FLH551-7448/555-8448 chips used truncated versions of "2", "3", "4", "5" and "6" for digits A–E. Digit F (1111 binary) was blank.

Soviet programmable calculators like the Б3–34 used the symbols "−", "L", "C", "Г", "E", and " " (space), allowing the error message EГГ0Г to be displayed.

There are also fourteen- and sixteen-segment displays (for full alphanumerics); however, these have mostly been replaced by dot matrix displays. Twenty-two-segment displays capable of displaying the full ASCII character set

Bought this used/renewed. One "dead pixel" maybe why was returned? Still I don"t feel chances are much different for getting perfect panel buying new. But.. "Don"t let the perfect be the enemy of the good." If expectation is perfection I recommend different and more established monitor size/curve and tech. I am so happy these monitors are on the market now at approachable price. But the pixel fault class for this monitor is II, so a few dead pixels are within parameters. The "perfection" some claim this price demands would actually make this monitor cost 3X as much I"d guess. Reasonable compromise. This was at the limit of how much I could invest on a single monitor. a dead pixel doesn"t much subtract from it function. And I REALLY wanted a 1000R ultrawide.

Had hard time gauging what expect, but is as I suspected that the pictures/videos all kind of distorted the monitor appearance for me. Not as curved as I thought it might be, which almost a shame because some crazy imaginings of what might be like. Interestingly I think the curve tapers off at the edges as well. I was under impression these were all consistent arc"s .. but pretty sure no, held flat edge along it and gap appear flat at edge. probably some science behind using a progressive curve for functional ergonomics, i just thought the curve was consistent. But yea, I thought the curve would be more. And from researching already knew the curves of most monitors was not stacking up to what I expected when I thought of transitioning to curved monitor design. If I going doing something different I like it to be really different. heh

Optimal viewing distance for 1000R is 1m (3 feet) .. even kicked way back w/ feet on desk, that still closer to optimal viewing distance than even an "aggressive" 1500R curve. Optimal viewing distance of 1800R is a1.8m or almost 6 feet. If that distance from monitor it time to look at TV"s.

So yea. I read a lot of tech reviews on this monitor saying only buy if looking for high FPS gaming monitor. I think they"ve lost touch a little with the common cyberspace nerd. Yes, for browsing, trolling forums, researching or writing, most the high end features of this monitor is lost, and for bang for buck is other panels that will get you the pixel screen space. HOWEVER if the science on the curve is to be believed, the reduction in eye strain over long hours of screen viewing more then compensates for the price difference of a lesser curve, making this the ultimate albeit expensive simple desktop monitor. More than just a reduction of eye strain too, but also faster more efficient work flow in the sense of less time-distance of eye travel and head turning almost like overclocking your organic data input.

..so this does something a more flat ultrawide couldn"t and reduces the argument for staying w/ dual 27" setups where one monitor can be angled, important for some workflows, even as going to 49" over dual setup is like adding an extra screen given that most web pages are designed for about 60% the width of standard screen. I"m using Windows PowerToys w/ fancy zones (all free) .. at the moment have it set 3 screen across, though 4 screens across is comfortable too I but transitions webpages into their "narrow" format.

Really had considerable fear of using a non-IPS panel. But they don"t yet have what I call real curve as I wanted more my main center monitor. But I don"t see a lot difference, I like the screen, is a good picture, comparable to my old quality IPS. I wouldn"t have bought this if it didn"t have 10bit color. I"m running it at 120Hz. I do like that in a couple years I"ll be able to run it faster, maybe when doesn"t cost quite as much electricity for a video card to move the pixels but for as little as I notice would be overkill for my uses today.

Early adopter isn"t usually my style, but in this case, waiting a few years was greater cost then pulling the trigger now. In 5 years I"ll probably add a 49" DQHD+ OLED when they exist. DQHD+ is 5120x1600, this is DQHD 5120x1400. So I guess a DQHD+ monitor to keep same horizontal measure would be more like 52" or 55. and crazy heavy. Reminder: 49" is the diagonal measurement. a standard that doesn"t work as well for ultrawides. I think this is 47" width but hard to measure the curve, is 45" straight across so I guess the curve only eats about 2" from actual width.

People talk about gaming but I not seen anyone yet mention the most important metric of a new monitor like this. Yes, the Winamp Milkdrop screensaver looks every bit as amazing as you would imagine on this monitor. (don"t forget tweak the settings) Not saying that why I bought the monitor, but I"m not saying it isn"t either.

Writing this review I remembered the Infinity Core Lighting, figured out how turn it on, spent lot time debating if mine is defective or it suppose to be this dim. still not sure. It glows, can set the color, but doesn"t project light, I mean the power button alone on an Alienware monitor projects more light I think. Is impressive such a large ring can light up while projecting so little light really. So if you want light behind your monitor you will still have to add that. which is fine, monitors should stick to being monitors. But sense I can"t see behind my monitor it useless. So... should they not have feature it? rethought it, and actually I am glad they made the back look the way it did. it adds to the utility of ultrawide that they can be on display in open area"s without an obnoxiously dull back panel wall.

1. at 120Hz, >50% brightness .. the heat from this not much for a monitor. worried it might be exaggerated all the time but instead is probably some efficiency gains over 2x27" yielding less heat at comparable performance settings it seems and I"d guess.

2. the noise some commented on I finally heard. my environment noisy (so i run soundmachines) so didn"t hear. when I first noticed, sounded like.. a "stink bug" flying into thing, but they are absent this year / didn"t see anything. next time realized it was the monitor. doesn"t sound like thermal expansion, though that easier way to explain it, so might as well stick with the story. sounds to me electrical in origin, when at it loudest almost like degaussing. So tested this in a quiet environment and is way more common than I was previous catching and I can better understand why they thought was thermal expansion noise. does now sound more like taping (maybe similar but not as loud noise my creaky chair sometime make) and I wouldn"t of thought was electrical in source. I should know more about the components of these things that I could give a theory of source, but sounds like something like capacitors/transistors or sort of thing that is discharging, phase changing or otherwise just doing something that makes noise on occasion. heck, could even be some sort of automated localized degaussing when something triggers the need for it. but whatever. my monitors a sound machine. that"s cool. :p I like a little personality.

Apple designed the App Store to be a safe and trusted place to discover and download apps. Apple’s in-app purchase system, an integral part of our world-class commerce platform, offers people around the world a private and secure user experience across apps and Apple devices, and makes it easy for them to manage their purchases and subscriptions for digital goods and services.

If you’re considering using this entitlement, it’s important to understand that some App Store features, such as Ask to Buy and Family Sharing, will not be available to your users, in part because we cannot validate payments that take place outside of the App Store’s private and secure payment system. Apple will not be able to assist users with refunds, purchase history, subscription management, and other issues encountered when purchasing digital goods and services through an alternative purchasing method. You will be responsible for addressing such issues.

Following productive conversations with the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM), today we’re introducing additional adjustments to Apple’s plan to comply with the regulator’s order pertaining to dating apps on the App Store in the Netherlands.

Auto-renewable subscriptions are a great way to let people access content, services, or premium features in your app. And Apple continues to set the bar in making it easy and transparent for subscribers to view, cancel, or manage their subscriptions. Our comprehensive approach includes providing email, push notifications, and in-app messaging to let subscribers know about upcoming changes and how to manage their subscriptions, or cancel if they prefer.

Currently, when an auto-renewable subscription price is increased, subscribers must opt in before the price increase is applied. The subscription doesn’t renew at the next billing period for subscribers who didn"t opt in to the new price. This has led to some services being unintentionally interrupted for users and they must take steps to resubscribe within the app, from Settings on iPhone and iPad, or in the App Store on Mac.

With this update, under certain specific conditions and with advance user notice, developers may also offer an auto-renewable subscription price increase, without the user needing to take action and without interrupting the service. The specific conditions for this feature are that the price increase doesn’t occur more than once per year, doesn’t exceed US$5 and 50% of the subscription price, or US$50 and 50% for an annual subscription price, and is permissible by local law. In these situations, Apple always notifies users of an increase in advance, including via email, push notification, and a message within the app. Apple will also notify users of how to view, manage, and cancel subscriptions if preferred.

For all subscription price increases that are above the thresholds, exceed the annual limit, or occur within territories where the law requires it, subscribers must opt in before the price increase is applied. The subscription won’t renew at the next billing period for subscribers who didn’t opt in to the new price. They can always resubscribe within the app, from Settings on iPhone and iPad, or in the App Store on Mac.

Back in 2016, to ensure a great user experience and at the suggestion of developers, we launched the App Store Improvements process to remove apps that no longer function as intended, don’t follow current review guidelines or are outdated. This helps us ensure apps work for the vast majority of users and support our latest innovations in security and privacy. Over the course of the past six years, we have removed almost 2.8 million apps as part of this process.

Security and privacy. Apple hardware and software are constantly evolving, and we frequently provide developers with new tools to enhance performance, security and privacy. When developers update their apps to incorporate such technologies, they’re doing their part to help safeguard user safety and security.

User experience. Keeping apps up to date to conform with modern screen sizes, SDKs, APIs, and all of the other features offered on iOS, iPadOS, and macOS ensures users can have a great experience with any app they get from the App Store.

As part of the App Store Improvements process, developers of apps that have not been updated within the last three years and fail to meet a minimal download threshold — meaning the app has not been downloaded at all or extremely few times during a rolling 12 month period — receive an email notifying them that their app has been identified for possible removal from the App Store.

Apple always wants to help developers get and keep quality software on the App Store. That’s why developers can appeal app removals. And developers, including those who recently received a notice, will now be given more time to update their apps if needed — up to 90 days. Apps that are removed will continue to function as normal for users who have already downloaded the app on their device.

In the next few days, prices of apps and in-app purchases (excluding auto-renewable subscriptions) on the App Store will increase in Cambodia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, and Uganda. The increases also consider the following tax changes:Cambodia: New value-added tax of 10% for developers based outside of Cambodia

In addition, prices on the App Store in Indonesia will not change, but proceeds for developers based outside of Indonesia will be adjusted to reflect an increase of value-added tax from 10% to 11%.

Once these changes go into effect, the Pricing and Availability section of My Apps will be updated. You can change the price of your apps and in-app purchases (including auto-renewable subscriptions) at any time in App Store Connect. If you offer subscriptions, you can choose to preserve prices for existing subscribers.

Last year, Apple announced an update coming to the App Store in early 2022 that would allow developers of “reader” apps to include an in-app link to their website for account creation and management purposes. Starting today, with the update of App Store Review guideline 3.1.3(a), developers of reader apps can now request access to the External Link Account Entitlement. This entitlement lets reader apps link to a website that is owned or maintained by the developer, so that users can create or manage their account outside of the app. Reader apps are apps that provide one or more of the following digital content types — magazines, newspapers, books, audio, music, or video — as the primary functionality of the app.

Since February of this year, developers of dating apps on the App Store in the Netherlands have been able to use the StoreKit External Purchase Entitlement or the StoreKit External Purchase Link Entitlement to enable the capability to sell services through a payment system other than Apple’s in-app purchase system. Apple established these entitlements as part of our plan to comply with a recent Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) order. Today we’ve introduced changes to these entitlements, which include:Removal of the Separate Binary Requirement: Apple is eliminating the requirement that developers of dating apps in the Netherlands who choose to use the above entitlements must create and use a separate binary. This change means that developers may include either entitlement in their existing dating app, but still must limit its use to the app in the Netherlands storefront and on devices running iOS or iPadOS.

Developers of dating apps who want to continue using Apple’s in-app purchase system — which we believe is the safest and most secure way for users to purchase digital goods and services — may do so and no further action is needed.

Starting April 25, 2022, iOS, iPadOS, and watchOS apps submitted to the App Store must be built with Xcode 13, which includes the SDKs for iOS 15, iPadOS 15, and watchOS 8.

Make the most of the exciting features in iOS 15, iPadOS 15, and watchOS 8 to offer even more intuitive and valuable user experiences. Improve your app’s performance by refactoring your code to take advantage of asynchronous functions in Swift. And with the latest updates to SwiftUI, you can enhance your apps with new features, such as improved list views, better search experiences, and support for control focus areas.

iPhone and iPad apps. iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 let you take advantage of Safari web extensions, SharePlay and the Group Activities API, Focus, ShazamKit, Create ML, and more. You can also publish custom product pages and in-app events, and run product page optimization tests on the App Store on these platforms.

A key reason for this success is that users hav
