The 800 x 480 display connects to Raspberry Pi via an adapter board that handles power and signal conversion. Only two connections to your Raspberry Pi are required: power from the GPIO port, and a ribbon cable that connects to the DSI port on all Raspberry Pi computers except for the Raspberry Pi Zero line.

For reference, I did create the Waveshare_ILI9486 wrapper library which has been tested on the UNO/Mega with genuine Waveshare SPI shift-register based displays (including a basic GFX-style interface). As David points out, it is possible that your board may work with a Waveshare-style driver. Note that I have not yet tested the above library on any of the RPI board variants (so anshumantech"s test result is not surprising). I don"t recall seeing a schematic or know how the RPI A,B,C variants may differ, but assuming it is still ILI9486-based via 16b shift regs, perhaps some small tweaks to the library or pin connectivity might enable it to work.

i had the same issues with this 3,5" TFT LCD and wiring it to an ESP32 and making the TouchScreen work. However i managed to find a solution to the problem. Lets start with the wiring:

Next lets focus on the software side. In bodmers awesome library you have to comment/uncomment the right sections. The User_Setup.h file is pretty straight forward. My display used the ILI9488 processor and is run in 8 Bit parallel mode:

When it came to the touchscreen i faced some difficulties. Since the display with 8 bit there is no dedicated "Touch Pin" like other displays use. I decided to use a different library than @Bodmer (no front, still love you and the library <3). I used the ADAFRUIT Touchscreen library in extend:

“Turing Smart Screen” is a low-cost 3.5-inch USB-C display that connects to systems with a USB port, and works with Windows, Linux (including Raspberry Pi), MacOS, and other operating systems that support Python3.

But contrary to my initial assumptions, it does not exactly act as a second monitor, and instead, it is an information display, originally designed to show resource utilization, e.g. CPU and memory usage, in Windows, and controlled through commands send to the USB port.

The manufacturer says it works with Windows only using its own software, and not AIDA64. The Windows software features functions to change the theme, adjust brightness, display the weather forecast, and so on. (Also see mirror download link on MEGA)

The display is shown as a serial device in the host system, and the open-source software can display a custom picture, text, and a progress bar, as well as clear or turn off the screen, reset the display, and set brightness, but screen rotation is not implemented yet.

The display ships with a one-meter USB Type-C cable, a stand, and double-sided tape, plus other accessories like a USB hub, depending on the selection option. I initially found it

2) Connect the TF card to the PC, open the Win32DiskImager software, select the system image downloaded in step 1 and click‘Write’ to write the system image. ( How to write an image to a micro SD card for your Pi? See RPi Image Installation Guides for more details)

3) Connect the TF card to the Raspberry Pi, start the Raspberry Pi. The LCD will display after booting up, and then log in to the Raspberry Pi terminal,(You may need to connect a keyboard and HDMI LCD to Pi for driver installing, or log in remotely with SSH)

Rotating the screen to the proper orientation proved challenging. The config.txt rotate commands don’t work with the raspberry pi4. I couldn’t get the xorg configuration to rotate the display. When I added kernel commandline parameters to rotate the display, that worked for the initial verbose boot screen… but once KlipperScreen loaded, it was the wrong orientation.
