With MacBook Airs, this is always an issue with the LCD itself, not the LCD cable. Basically, one of the 2 ribbons going from the display itself to the screen PCB goes bad, causing either a white fading screen, grey screen with even vertical lines, or distorted bars to run down the screen. I"m really at my wit"s end with this problem I"ve been having with my XPS13, and was wondering if anyone else has had an experience like this, or could offer me any advice. As a student, I"m not exactly swimming in cash, and really want to try and solve this issue myself before diving into any astronomically expensive repairs. Problem: The issue started to appear in August 2017, literally 2 weeks after my warranty expired, completely out of the blue. Screen flickers and distorts, even pre-boot, or in BIOS.

Thinking it to be a hardware issue, I re-seated the LCD cable, as well as touch screen connection. Having conferred with 2 different computer technicians as well as Dell tech support, we concluded this to be an issue with the LCD. I was quoted 920 euros for the LCD replacement by Dell, so instead decided to have a replacement OEM screen (complete top half of laptop) installed by a local technician. I noticed that I had an RA ( resistor array) bank which was supposed to read 100 ohms, one of the resistors was reading 2.1K ohms, I said bingo there is an issue. Also there were two resistors that were supposed to measure 300K were actually at 200K and 120K ( I have to figure what they do). After this I pulled the SM and looked up the CPU schematics and sure enough the RA was in the circuitry of the LCD display ( IC5 on the board). after poking at theta resistor for a while I finally managed to get a reading of 130 ohms from the 2.1 K. I placed back in the unit and behold everything came to life on the LCD display. I did have the blue screen with no display just the back light when the flickering stopped. So the resistor not making good contact ( for now) was where the flickering coming from.

I believe that the issue with the blue screen of death is simple to fix as long as the IC 5 is not faulty and there are no PSU issues. This is minor dollar value fix and not having to spend hundreds of dollars on boards. I will post up pictures of the location when I get a chance. I also need to go back and solder down that resistor for good and find out what the other two resistors function are. It was late at night when I powered it up to check the LCD.

I just got my Fuji XA5 today and was very excited. I took a few shots but because the battery was low out of the box, I plug the camera in to charge the battery before doing anything with it. Once it got done charging, I turned it on and noticed that the LCD is flickering. It is flickering around the edge and it happens in every mode that I can tell: stills, video, face/eye detect on and off, in every ISO and DR range that I can test, with high performance mode on and off. I"m extremely disappointed in this. Are there any other XA5 owners with this problem?

I am not sure if this is the camera over heating after charging or if it is a defect. I"m going to wait about 30 minute before using it again. If the LCD is still flickering I have to return the camera.
