Also known as Tablet Express Dragon Touch X10, the Dragon Touch X10 relies on a mini-HDMI port, which can be an option for users whose TV set is not MHL-enabled, while it depends on a seemingly-fast 8-core 2GHz AllWinner A83T CPU partnered with an Allwinner A83T GPU to handle games and applications.
If the problem is with the LCD screen, unfortunately I haven’t been able to find suppliers of the part online. You may have better luck. Just search for Dragon Touch M10x lcd screen to hopefully get results for suppliers of the part.
Android tablets are getting less expensive day by day, and the Dragon Touch X10 offers up decent Android performance for not at lot of money. This tablet is closely related to the Dragon Touch i10X Windows tablet in form. While its not rocking the latest Android version, this tablet still has its uses. Read on for the full Dragon Touch X10 review.
The Dragon Touch X10 is nearly identical to the Dragon iX10 Windows tablet minus the Windows logo. The front IPS display has a pre-installed screen protector, a nice touch, and the 2MP camera resides here as well. Along the top edge (in landscape) are the volume rocker and power switch. The back of the device houses the 5MP camera, as well as two speakers and the Dragon Touch branding.
On the left side of the Dragon Touch X10 you’ll find the microSD slot for expandable storage, microUSB port, mini HDMI port, USB 2.0 port, DC in and headphone jack. The tablet body is made of a soft touch material that tends to grab dirty fingerprints easily, so wash your hands. Overall the design is simple and adheres to your basic black tablet slab seen in Android and Windows tablets. It’s not a ground breaking design; instead, it doesn’t stray from what we normally see, so it should be comfortable.
The touch screen was decent. There were some instances where it didn’t catch my input and I had to tap a few times. Scrolling was mostly lag-free but there were occasional hiccups where the browser had to catch up. Some of these issues are probably associated mostly with Android 5.1. If Dragon Touch would update the OS some of this could be resolved.
The Dragon Touch X10 is running Android 5.1 Lollipop so you’re not getting the benefit of the latest Google OS. Still, Android 5.1 is capable and works really well on the X10. The occasional lag and scrolling issues are likely due to lack of software updates, so Android 6.0 would be nice to see on this tablet.
Running an Octa-Core A83T and 1GB of RAM1GB of RAM the tablet is still very capable of handling basic tablet duties. Browsing, calendar and office work are all very easy to run, as is media consumption like YouTube and Netflix. Playing games on the Dragon Touch X10 isn’t too bad either, light gaming is very doable and even slightly heavier games like Temple Run are fairly smooth. When you get into heavier gaming like Asphalt 6 you’re going to start getting some lag and dropped frames. I did encounter a curiosity when logging into the tablet for the first time. Google keeps track of the devices your Google account is using. When logging into this tablet, Google recognized it as a Sony Xperia X10. This might indicate Dragon Touch is using Sony parts for the Dragon Touch X10.
Just don’t take pictures with a tablet, please don’t do it. But if you find yourself in a pinch and need to use the Dragon Touch X10 for pictures you’ll find a 2.0MP and 5.0MP shooter on it. The cameras are likely the same modules in the iX10 since nearly everything is identical here. The front facing 2.0MP camera is pretty grainy and doesn’t work well in low light at all. If you’re going to use it for Skype it will work well but make sure you have some light in the room. The rear 5.0MP camera is also weak in low light with a lot of grain. It does better in sunlight and well lit areas but seriously, use your phone for pictures.
