Corsair recently introduced its new iCUE Elite LCD Display Liquid CPU Coolers. All three of these new coolers, the H100i Elite LCD, H150i Elite LCD, and H170i Elite LCD, are equipped with a 2.1-inch IPS screen that can be adjusted to display PC monitoring statistics (such as CPU temps, coolant temps, fan speeds, and system temperatures), as well as photos and animated GIFs, among other things. These coolers also make use of Corsair"s latest ML RGB Elite Series fans, which provide very effective yet silent cooling. Yeah, iCue Elite LCD coolers that are equipped with a 2.1-inch IPS LCD screen for easy viewing of statistics. The screen has a resolution of 480 × 480 pixels and a refresh rate of 30 frames per second. It serves as a useful dashboard for displaying your system"s vital signs. You can, however, personalize it to your satisfaction by including a one-of-a-kind animation or even your favorite meme. Added into the mix are Corsair ML RGB Elite series fans power the iCue Elite LCD coolers, which provide reduced friction and noise while also providing enhanced performance and durability when compared to ordinary bearings. The ML120 RGB Elite and the ML140 RGB Elite have operational speeds ranging from 450 RPM to 2,000 RPM and 400 RPM to 1,600 RPM, respectively, and are available in two sizes. Eight ARGB LEDs help to distinguish the cooling fans from the rest of the room. The cooling blocks are split-flow copper cold plates based on a high-density design that has 128 micro-skived fins per inch, which allows for more efficient cooling. Pump heads for iCue Elite LCD coolers are powerful, although they produce little noise, according to the manufacturer. According to Corsair"s findings, using a liquid cooler can result in up to 13.6 percent lower processor temperatures when compared to using an air cooler. The tests were carried out on an unidentified processor under a 250W load at an ambient temperature of 27 degrees Celsius, according to the manufacturer. Backed by a five-year limited warranty the units do not come cheap though, the H100i Elite LCD and H150i Elite LCD will cost $259.99 and $289.99, respectively, H170i Elite LCD will; cost $309.99. Here"s something to remember though, if you already own one of the brand"s iCue Elite Capellix coolers, you may upgrade the LCD display of your CPU cooler with the iCue Elite CPU cooler LCD display upgrade kit, which costs $99.99.

We test the 360mm radiator, version 150i, which is quite powerful in cooling. It is a cooler series that is easy on the eyes and comes with a relatively tool-free installation. The unit will offer good performance, not exceptional as the key for this release are low noise levels. While we cannot recommend it for reasons we"ll explain later, you could even select an optional 0-DBA mode. As long as the coolant stays under 40 Degrees, C the fans do not spin. So without further ado, let"s have a peek at it and head onwards into the review.

TheiCUE H150i ELITE LCD CPU Coolerfrom Corsair is a powerful product that delivers excellent customised cooling. And today, we’re focusing on this specific cooler here in our Corsair H150i ELITE LCD CPU Cooler review.

The H150i ELITE is among the priciest AIO liquid coolers we’ve tried. So, we just had to see if its price is right for how it performs and what it offers.

Though we understand why it’s a bit on the pricey side since it sports customisable screens on its waterblock/pump unit. Additionally, the company also included their own Corsair iCUE Commander Core – a combination of a lighting controller and fan.

When the cooler arrived in our office, it was packed in a typical-looking cardboard box that sports an all-black theme. It’s a flip-open type so you won’t have a difficult time pulling out the product from it.

The top flip cover has “Super Chilled” written on it, as well as the name of the unit inside. On each side of the box, an image of the cooler is displayed with all of its LEDs shining. Again, you’ll find the product’s name written on the sides.

Together with the cooler, you’ll also find a mounting kit for all current CPU sockets. Then, there are three ML ELITE RGB PWM 120mm fans, fan & radiator mounting screws, and a pre-applied thermal compound.

The H150i ELITE sports a 2.1” IPS screen that you can adjust. Doing this showcases PC monitoring statistics like CPU temps, fan speed, and coolant temps. It also displays animated GIFs and photos, among other things.

We love how the cooler looks, especially with its stealthy black theme. Then, the inclusion of an LCD screen lets you customise your PC further, making the build ultimately yours.

Its LCD has a 480 x 480 resolution while its refresh rate is 30 fps. The LCD screen works as a convenient dashboard to display the vital signs of your system.

When we speak of customising your PC using the LCD screen, you’re allowed to add unique animation to it. If not, you can even use your favourite meme for customisation.

The screen even includes a LED ring that has up to 24 ARGB LED lights. These can be managed via the iCUE software from Corsair which is included with the display.

You’ll find a little mirrored logo of Corsair at the centre of the right and left side of the radiator. It’s a nice and attractive touch to the cooler’s all-black theme.

We like that the right-angled couplers connecting the tubes to the CPU block swing around with ease. And speaking of its tubes, these are flexible enough which is convenient especially when you’re faced with challenging installation scenarios.

The ML RGB ELITE Series fans power this cooler while offering decreased friction and noise. Simultaneously, it even offers optimised performance and durability compared to regular bearings.

The H150i ELITE features a 2.1” LCD screen with an ultra-bright 600cd/m² backlight. Here, you can use pre-installed screens and lighting profiles, or upload animated images.

The low-noise pump of the H150i ELITE ensures you can take advantage of every MHz of compatible CPUs. It prevents thermal throttling to avoid sacrificing your system’s performance.

All Elite LCD coolers come with an iCUE Commander Core hub for controlling fan speeds and lighting your fans. This turns your chassis into a smart case.

Each of the all-new ML RGB ELITE fans features eight RGB LEDs. It uses the AirGuide technology channel airflow to deliver high CPU cooling performance.

The H150i ELITE’s cold plate features an optimal design with a high-density stack of 128 micro-skived fins-per-inch. With this, you can ensure efficient cooling at all loads.

Like other ELITE LCD coolers, the H150i ELITE comes with complete mounting hardware. It’s readily compatible with modern platforms including AMD AM4, Intel LGA 1200, and Intel LGA 1700.

This section of our Corsair H150i ELITE LCD CPU Cooler review is all about the product’s specifications. And for starters, we appreciate Corsair for including a 5-year cooling warranty on the H150i ELITE.

The screen size is 2.1” while native and max resolutions are both 480 x 480. Its refresh rate is 30Hz and its fans dimensions are 120 x 25mm. Additionally, there are a total of three fans here and the model is the ML ELITE Series.

For those wondering about its peak brightness, it’s 600 Nit while display colours are 16.7M or 8-bit RGB. The technology used for its display is IPS and its surface is a glossy display which is really good.

This is the most important part of our Corsair H150i ELITE LCD CPU Cooler review since we’re discussing its performance. We tested the cooler for over a week and we’ll share our experience when we used it.

The Corsair iCUE app is currently in its fourth version. This universal software suite is where you monitor variables like component temperatures and the fans’ RPM. Also, it’s where you can customise RGB lighting, control fan RPM, and adjust other settings.

When selecting LED control, you can program the H150i ELITE’s RGB lit Corsair logo and ring. There are a lot of colours available and effects include static, blink, colour pulse, colour shift, rainbow, and temperature. If you don’t want any of these, you can switch the effects off instead.

Installing the H150i ELITE was quick and easy since it followed most of the standard AIO installation processes. However, it’s good to note that the chosen orientation will slightly alter the installation process.

Though with huge radiators like those measuring 360 or 420mm, the process can get a bit tricky. But with the help of the H150i’s LCD, things got a lot easier, especially with its square design.

In silent and balanced modes, the pump was completely quiet. Like the three ML RGB ELITE fans, it only made a little noise when we ramped up the system load.

AIO coolers like H150i ELITE cost a lot and are designed for high-end custom PCs. This CPU cooler from Corsair is a well-rounded product with a great design and superior performance.

The H150i ELITE may be expensive, but it’s capable of handling the temperatures of enthusiast-grade processors. Throughout our tests for our Corsair H150i ELITE LCD CPU Cooler review, we didn’t see any issues. It delivered excellent cooling even under heavy loads while operating quietly.

Overall, the H150i ELITE is an excellent cooler and we highly recommend it if you want to overclock your processor. It’s also best for power-hungry processors that easily get hot under heavy loads.

Corsair knows a thing or two about making decent all-in-one liquid CPU coolers and the company has launched a new range of iCUE Elite LCD solutions for Intel and AMD processors. Available as the Corsair H100i Elite LCD, H150i Elite LCD, and H170i Elite LCD, today we"re taking a look at the H150i Elite LCD.

Each CPU cooler comes rocking a 2-inch IPS display that can display temperature readings and more. Corsair bundles the latest ML RGB Elite fans (in 120mm and 140mm flavors), creating quite the compelling range of coolers to go up against heated competition from NZXT, ASUS, and other manufacturers.

Starting from $260 for the Corsair H100i Elite LCD, these aren"t affordable solutions to cool your processor. Is the Corsair H150i Elite LCD worthy of a spot in our best CPU coolers collection?

Bottom line: Corsair"s H150i Elite LCD may be seriously expensive, but this AIO cooler is capable of handling even enthusiast-grade processors without breaking a sweat.

Prices for the Corsair iCUE Elite LCD AIO coolers start from $250 for the 240mm H100i Elite LCD. The H150i Elite LCD we"re reviewing today costs $280-290, which is a substantial amount of money for a CPU cooler, even if it"s an AIO with a 360mm radiator and three premium 120mm fans.

There has always been a premium feel for enjoying the luxury of all-in-one liquid cooling performance compared to air coolers. Corsair"s range isn"t priced out of the competition either. When the 360mm NZXT Kraken Z73 originally launched, it was priced at $280. Corsair does offer some advantages with an IPS display and high-end fans.

Corsair includes everything you"ll require to get up and running, including the pump/radiator, three 120mm ML Elite fans, iCUE COMMANDER CORE RGB and fan controller hub, and a bag of mounting accessories. The iCUE COMMANDER CORE is one powerful hub alone, allowing you to hook up to six RGB channels and fans.Corsair"s iCUE H150i Elite LCD AIO looks the part with its gorgeous IPS display.

It"s possible to connect the three ML Elite fans to your motherboard to let it handle curves and the like, but I"d recommend using the iCUE COMMANDER CORE since you"re going to want to install and use the software to manage the IPS display. If you"ve installed and used an AIO cooler before, you"ll know precisely how everything works with the H150i Elite LCD.

Corsair includes mounting accessories for Intel and AMD (including Threadripper) processors. The fans can be attached to the radiator on either side, depending on how you plan to install the AIO inside the best PC case. Interestingly, the plastic shroud with the IPS display can be detached from the main water block to make installation easier.

The Corsair H150i Elite LCD is more than enough for the AMD Ryzen 9 5950X as the chart below shows, making it overkill for a 12th Gen Intel Core i5 processor. You could get away with the smaller H100i Elite LCD for anything below an Intel Core i7 or AMD Ryzen 7 CPU. A temperature reading of 56 C on an overclocked Ryzen 9 5950X is a solid score.

The pump is silent in both silent and balanced modes, though you will notice some whine when pushing it to full speed. The same goes for the three ML Elite fans that are fairly quiet until you really ramp up the system load on the CPU. When joined by a few more case fans, you"ll not endure any additional noise with a good pair of headphones on.

This is one expensive piece of tech. Corsair threw a lot into the H150 Elite LCD box, including premium ML Elite fans and a fan/RGB controller hub. The pump and fans are excellent in keeping powerful processors cooled, but you"ll want to mess around with the various settings using iCUE software to really make the most of this AIO cooler.

There are numerous liquid coolers available for both Intel and AMD processors. Displays are becoming a more common sight on water blocks too. Corsair has always produced some of the best fans on the market and pairing them up with a radiator and reliable pump is a sure way of creating a powerful AIO cooler.

A close contender for the Corsair Elite LCD series is the Kraken range from NZXT. If you"re after a white AIO cooler, NZXT may have just what you"re searching for, but both solutions are extremely good with the latest processors. The decision largely boils down to personal tastes in design and how much you"re willing to spend.

Whether you should buy the Corsair H150i Elite LCD depends on a few things. Firstly, you need to be comfortable spending $300 on a CPU cooler. Then you need to have a powerful enough processor to take advantage of the 360mm radiator and thermal cooling capacity. Finally, you need to be running an OS that supports Corsair"s iCUE software to manage the IPS display.

While it"s only available in black, the H150i Elite LCD is gorgeous. The 2-inch IPS display is great for displaying temperatures or animated images. The three included 120mm ML Elite fans are incredible too. They"re capable of pushing volumes of air through the radiator and the latest pump from Corsair is quiet yet powerful.

Whether you"re using an overclocked Intel Core i5-12600K or AMD Ryzen 9 5950X, you"re going to have an easy time keeping the processor cooled. Playing games or running synthetic benchmarks and stress tests, the Corsair H150i Elite LCD is more than happy to keep temperatures low enough without making too much noise.

Bottom line: In terms of performance alone, the Corsair H150i Elite LCD is an incredible piece of kit. It will happily keep an overclocked Intel Core i5-12600K or AMD Ryzen 9 5950X cool enough under load.

Here at TBG, we have a thing for coolers. We’ve tested well over six dozen at this point, of all types, from low-profile to towers to big liquid models. In fact, we’ve conducted multiple shootouts for each of these categories, which we believe gives our audience a much better understanding of the market than one-off reviews do. But occasionally we’ll still do a single-product review if we think it will build on a recent shootout, and that brings us to Corsair’s H150i Elite LCD.

Back when we tested the Corsair H150i Pro RGB XT, we mentioned that if Corsair could tweak the fans a bit, it might be able to reestablish itself as a true leader in the liquid cooling market that it pioneered. And lo and behold, buried way down on the spec sheet for the Elite LCD are brand-new fans!

That, dear readers, is why we decided to test this cooler, not the snazzy LCD screen on the pump (which we will obviously be showing off). The Elite LCD is in fact the first cooler to feature the new ML120 RGB Elite fans, which are a major revision of the original ML120 and ML120 RGB fans.  While the basic 7-blade design remains, the shape of those blades is slightly different, and more importantly, the frame has been completely redesigned. One other notable update: every Elite LCD includes an Intel Socket 1700 adapter, which will be music to the ears of Intel 12th-Gen early-adopters.

But how does the Elite LCD perform? Only testing will tell us, so let’s jump into it! As always, thanks to Corsair for providing a sample of the Corsair’s H150i Elite LCD for review.

With that said, a few things stand in the way of total domination. First, of course, is the price. If you don’t want the snazzy screen, you probably shouldn’t be paying for it, right? We just hope that Corsair updates it’s other AIO coolers with the improved ML120 fans on the Elite LCD. Even then, the ML120 fan blade design still holds back the cooler slightly versus the best rad-specific fan designs, and the CoolIt pump is not quite as sublime as what Arctic provides (although it’s at least on par with Asetek designs). But the Elite LCD has enough going for it that other manufacturers can’t provide that we’ll give Corsair a pass on all that and bestow it with our recommended award!

This AIO cooler comes in under $120 but has a sizable 240mm radiator and dual 120mm fans. Those fans generate 2.6 mmH2O of air pressure and 69.17 CFM of airflow, ensuring ample air movement throughout your PC while remaining quiet.

The fans and the water pump housing of Lian Li Galahad GA-240A feature 47 addressable RGB lights to keep your system glowing. It’s also easy to switch between the 17 different lighting effects thanks to a handy little controller. Beyond that, the kit includes thermal paste and ensures compatibility with most major CPU sockets, meaning you’ll have everything you need to get up and running.

Looking for an all-in-one liquid cooler with a 240mm radiator, wide compatibility, RGB options, and a bargain price? The DeepCool LS520 is the one for you. It has a big radiator with two fans designed for higher static pressure and a strong, concentrated airflow. And the water pump has a powerful three-phase drive motor and great coolant flow. This cooler even manages to keep everything running quietly, as the pump noise only reaches 19 dB

Beyond the DeepCool LS520’s cooling prowess, you get adjustable RGB lighting on those fans, and the water pump features an infinity mirror to make its lights really shine. Motherboard connectivity even allows you to link and sync it with your existing RGB setup. And if you’re worried about the cooler working with your CPU, it complements a variety of builds thanks to its extensive socket compatibility, including LGA1700, AM5, and sTR4.

The NZXT Kraken X53 is the successor to our longtime favorite NZXT Kraken X52 that features some major improvements to look better and cool more efficiently. (We"ve seen this cooler easily keep an Intel Core i7-9700K running at full tilt, well under 50-degrees Celsius.) It’s available in 120mm, 240mm, and 360mm.

If you need the biggest, most powerful liquid cooling unit, look no further. The Corsair iCUE H150i Elite LCD has a large, 360mm radiator to handle the hottest CPUs and the highest overclock speeds. The Corsair ML RGB Elite fans can adjust to higher or lower levels, according to the moment’s cooling needs.

As far as lighting, the fans’ RGB lighting can also be adjusted with Corsair’s iCUE software, but the unit really raises the bar with the pump’s 2.1-inch IPS LCD display. It has 8-bit color depth for millions of color options. The display can show visual effects, and even GIFs or memes, all at 30fps (and, of course, it can display handy system performance data, like your CPU temperature).

When it comes to liquid CPU coolers, there’s a good reason the Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML240 Illusion stands out. It pairs RGB lights with translucent material for maximum visual impact. Imagine a glow stick dancing in the middle of your PC while it’s running, and you’ll have a good idea.

Cooler Master pairs the dual-chamber radiator with two MasterFan MF120 Halo fans (also translucent), which have a total of 24 ARGB LEDs each, and you can customize your look from the included ARGB controller, so you don’t need to have motherboard RGB controls to make use of it.

The Alphacool Eisbaer Aurora offers just about everything you could want in an AIO water cooler. Its 240mm radiator provides powerful cooling, and the two 120mm Aurora Lux Pro fans are capable of 2.0 mmH2O of static pressure and 61.5 CFM of airflow. The biggest way this cooler sets itself apart is that you can open the fluid chamber and refill it, meaning it can have a longer life as part of your rig.

There’s a good amount of RGB lighting on display here as well, although it’s not as flexible as other options on this list. Both fans sport RGB light rings and the pump includes a transparent window with RGB lighting inside.

Several cooler manufacturers have displays, but NZXT’s Kraken Z63 truly stands above the rest. The display contains important information like the CPU and GPU temperatures, but you can also have it display animated GIFs and other things, letting you truly personalize your setup.

The Kraken Z63 isn’t lacking in power, either, as it comes with a powerful pair of 140mm fans and an advanced Asetek water pump. If you like the idea of having a display, but don’t need tons of RGB light flooding your system, this is the one.

The EKWaterBlocks EK-AIO 240 D-RGB cooler is primed and ready to keep the hottest, high-end gaming rig cool. It"s compatible with Intel and AMD setups, and is easy and quick to set up. The Vardar S 120mm fans on this beast can produce 2.89 mmH2O of static pressure and 66 CFM airflow to enable the 240mm radiator to handle whatever your CPU can throw at it.

Today, we will be taking a look at Corsair H150i Pro Review. H150i is a 360mm cooling solution from the Corsair featuring Asetek 6th Generation pump with a reportedly smaller cold plate. Corsair has been marketing their new Pro series coolers to be noise optimized or in other words silent cooling. By the way, we have a separate Best 360mm AIO CPU Cooler Guide for beginners.

We have to see if this comes at the cost of performance margin or another way around. The cooler has 3 ML series low noise PWM fans. These are not regular ML series high-performance PWM fans. So, again, we are seeing what approach Corsair is taking with these coolers. The much-marketed feature of these coolers is the killer RGB LED lighting solution on the pump top which speaks for itself. It is giving vivid effects that if I have to put in my words, is giving dope effect, to say the least.

The cooler comes in a large size cardboard box of multi colors. The top side has a Corsair brand name and logo printed on the top left side. Salient feature are highlighted under the brand name like it is compatible with the Corsair Link, has 3x 120mm fans, and 5 years of Corsair Guarantee.

I am wondering if this is their way of saying warranty! Pump has been shown in 7 different colors at the bottom left side depicting the customizable RGB Backlit pump head. This is a 360mm radiator with 3 120mm ML series quiet PWM fans. There is a picture of the cooler printed on the main section. Hydro Series is printed on the top right side with yellow color background.

This is the Corsair’s low noise 360mm RGB Liquid CPU Cooler. The bottom side has a Corsair brand name and logo printed on the top left side. H150i Pro RGB is printed on the top right side. The unit comes with three ML series fans utilizing the magnetic levitation to deliver improved airflow with low noise. A serial no sticker is printed on the bottom right side along with the part no which is CW-9060031-WW. The cooler is made in China.

H150i Pro is a 360mm closed loop liquid cooler from the Corsair. Let’s take a closer look at the unit and see what it is all about. It has a 360mm radiator with three non-RGB, 120mm ML series Low Noise PWM fans. Don’t confuse these fans with the regular ML series fans which are high-performance series fans. We will give a rundown of the specification comparison of fans below.

The dimension of the radiator is 396x120x27mm. The thickness of the radiator is 27mm. With 25mm fans the overall thickness would be 52mm. The cooler has a dense fin stack with FPI count of 20 as per calculation on our unit. The radiator is made of aluminum hence it is lightweight.

There are no protective sheets over the fins under the fan mounts. So, take care while mounting the fans as longer screws could damage the fins which would hamper the performance of the cooler. It is recommended to use the supplied long screws to mount the fans on to the radiators using the washers. The hoses are firmly fitted on the radiator assembly and on the pump housing.

Corsair seems to be using Teflon based meshed hoses though we are not confirmed about that. The soft material tubing is flexible and doesn’t produce kinking which is always a plus. The hoses are a change from the previous generation of Hydro series coolers from Corsair. Hoses on the Pro series cooler are thinner than the ones on the non-Pro series coolers hence they are easy to manage inside the chassis as per the required orientation.

The finishing of the radiator is top notch and we did not observe any bend fin on the assembly part. The radiator has 396mm length making it the largest of what we have reviewed in 360mm CLC category. The Raijintek Orcus 360 has a length of 395mm. Just a 1mm gap there. There is a gap of 15mm between two consecutive fan mounts which makes it a tight fit for the 120mm fans spacing.

This radiator does not have any swappable sidebar as we have seen on non-Pro hydro series coolers like H100i V2 or H115i GTX. In terms of radiator or hoses, we are not seeing any radical change as compared to the previous gen hydro series coolers from the Corsair. Length of the hoses is approximately 393mm.

Let’s take a look at the main ingredient of the design. This cooler is the first, as per our limited knowledge, to be using the Asetek 6th generation pump and PCB. Reportedly, this unit is also using smaller cold plate though we could not get confirmed information regarding the no of fins used in the cold plate and gap between the fins.

The cooler has circular copper base and it comes with Intel mounting bracket pre-installed on it. It has Asetek pre-applied thermal paste as well. Corsair has introduced new pump housing with RGB LED lighting solution on it. All these changes are new to the Pro series of the cooler and can’t be found on previous generation of Hydro series coolers from the Corsair. The hoses are implemented in 90° on the block.

They are not that much protruding as we saw on the Aerocool P7-L240 hence RAM clearance is not an issue with the H150i Pro. Hoses can be rotated in left or right side depending upon the orientation of the cooler. The dimension of the block as per our calculation is approximately 78x30x62mm.The block has two-toned chassis with a diffusor sitting in between.

Using this cable, we can control the cooler’s lighting effects and performance using the Corsair Link software which can be downloaded from their website. There are 3 cables coming out of the block on the rear side in between the hoses ends. These cables are SATA cable to power up the pump and connected fans. It has a length of approximately 263mm. The second cable is a 3-pin cable which is to be connected to the CPU fan header to report the pump’s speed.

The length of this cable is approximately 295mm. The pump is rated at maximum of 2800 RPM at 12V DC. In our testing, the pump hits 2820 RPM in Performance mode, 1080 RPM in Quiet mode and roughly 2100 RPM in Balanced mode. As was the case with the previous gen hydro series coolers, you can’t control the pump’s speed without Corsair Link software and Corsair has maintained this implementation with their Pro series coolers as well.

On a personal note, I am against such design considerations where users are bound to a software use. Anyhow, this is my personal opinion and has nothing to do with the performance of the pump or the unit. Unfortunately, I was not able to gather information on the flow rate of this pump. To my surprise, the new Pro series coolers are not yet listed on the Asetek website.

Now that we have taken a look at the unit’s main assembly, it is time to dig these ML Low Noise PWM fans. Corsair has provided 3 120mm fans with the H150i Pro CPU Liquid Cooler. These are not RGB fans should you be looking for this information. These fans have black color frame resembling that of the regular ML series high-performance PWM fans. Each fan has 7 blades in gray color.

There are no anti-vibration pads on these fans which is surprising as the Corsair’s approach with this cooler is to provide silent cooling. There is a black color sticker pasted on the motor hub with a white color Corsair brand logo printed in its center. The frame is narrow in the centers and thicker on the edges. There is a 111mm of spacing between the mounting holes on the same side. There is a serial no sticker pasted on one of the sides of the frame.

Installation method is the same as we have seen in the previous generation of the hydro series coolers. We have tested the cooler on the X99 platform with a 2011-3 socket. We started with installing 4 standoffs on the pre-mounted holes around the socket. Use the ones with different threading on both ends as these are the ones dedicated to 2011/2011-3/2066 sockets. Next, we apply the thermal paste on the IHS of the CPU.

We are using Noctua NT-H1 thermal paste on our test bench to test the coolers. Place the block on the standoffs by aligning the holes on the pre-installed Intel bracket with the screw threading. Use the thumbscrews to secure the block. Make sure to mount the block in a diagonal pattern for even pressure. Tighten them till the thread runs out but don’t over tighten the block.

Connect the SATA cable to the PSU’s SATA Cable. Connect the 3-pin connector to the CPU fan header. Connect the Link cable to the block and any available USB 2.0 header of the motherboard.

The thermal paste being used on our test bench is the Noctua NT-H1 thermal paste. The use of a same thermal paste for all coolers will ensure the standardization and mitigate any performance benefit that may come using the supplied thermal paste. Delta temperatures are reported on the graphs.

The cooler is tested on stock clocks i.e 3.6GHz using 1.136V manual VCore. The Asus RealBench 2.44 is used to stress test the cooler’s performance. Each run of the test was of 60 minutes followed by 15 minutes break to let the system cool down. Fans were set to run at their 100% RPM and water pump was set at 100% as well. CPU is overclocked to 4.3GHz with 1.350V manual VCore.

No rounding is done on the ambient temps. To test the sound level, Fonseo Digital Sound Meter is used. There is no other fan on the test bench. The Corsair AX1200i’s fan is set to below 40% which nearly makes it inaudible and Alphacool Eisbaer fan on the Eilswolf cooler is set to 40% as well. Testing is done during night time.

Before we proceed further, it is pertinent to mention that this cooler is being marketed as a low noise cooler. That is why Corsair has provided low noise ML fans. The pump at full speed makes a whining sound which is not audible under Balanced/Quiet mode. In order to test this cooler from the manufacturer’s point of view, either we need to set a noise-normalized performance testing in which we determine the noise level of the fans and then test other coolers according to this noise level or we test the cooler with high-performance PWM fans.

Since we are not following the convention of the noise-normalized performance testing, we would also test the cooler with high-performance PWM fans from the Corsair and show the results in the graph. This would indicate the level of performance cut that is there with the cooler, if any, given the utilization of low noise fans. For that purpose, we have included Corsair ML Pro in the testing.

Testing with ML Pros was done on the same parameters as was with the Low Noise PWM ML fans that are shipped with the H150i Pro cooler. Before we proceed to the results, here is a comparison of the fans in terms of their specification:

Let’s take a look at the results and see how the cooler performs with both of these fans. On stress testing with stock clocks, the cooler was doing 24°C with the stock fans which is shy above 24.33°Cthat the Reeven Naia did. Reeven Naia is a 240mm cooler. There was a difference of 2.5°C between the Corsair H150i Pro and Alphacool Eisbaer 360 with Eiswind 12 fans.

With ML Pros, the cooler was doing 22°C which is just 0.5°C less than the Alphacool Eisbaer 360 and is marginal enough to say that both coolers were neck to neck. This result is clearly showing that with high performing fans, the Corsair H150i Pro can take on any cooler in the competition but since the Corsair is aiming for low noise cooling with this cooler, this is still a pretty decent performance from the cooler given the noise level of the fans.

Next, we overclocked the chip to 4.3GHz using 1.350V on VCore. Maximum temperature with the stock fans was 40.5°C which is higher than the Reeven Naia’s 38.8°C. Alphacool Eisbaer 360 was doing 35.2°C so strictly between two 360mm coolers the Corsair H150i Pro was trailing by 5.3°C. Next, we ran the test with the Corsair ML Pros and the cooler was doing 37.8°C which 2.7°C improvement over the stock fans.

In terms of the relative performance, the Corsair H150i Pro offers a decent performance yet at silent levels which have enabled the Corsair to achieve what they have been marketing about this cooler. And we can see that with high-performance fans, this cooler can take the challenge with any other cooler in the market; mind you, in closed loop category.

Keep in mind that if you opt for performance then add the price of the three high-performance fans to the price of the cooler and it will not be a value product at all from this perspective. Corsair is already charging a premium for this cooler and going to spend more on fans won’t be a wise move.

Let’s take a look at the Corsair Link software which is used to control the lighting effects on this cooler as well as the pump and fans control. The version we have used is 4.9.5.25. Its main interface shows the temperatures of the motherboard, CPU, storage drives, graphics card(s), RAMs, cooler, and Corsair digital PSUs like in our case it was showing the power in, power out, temperature, the voltage reading off the AX1200i.

Our main focus here is the Cooler related settings. The summary is showing the current temperature reading of the sensor followed by the RPM of the three connected fans and the Pump. The last option being shown is the LED color. Click on the LED color to show more options. A new window will have the name Configure LED. It has multiple options on it to play with the LED effects for this cooler. There are 6 preset color lighting effects:

Click on the Configure button and scroll down to the H150i Pro’s options. We have Fan1, Fan2, Fan3, Pump speeds being displayed individually and the last option is the pump’s LED. Clicking on pump’s LED will open the same Configure LED window which we have discussed above. Click on the Pump option and it will open a new window named Configure Pump.

Corsair has released their new closed loop coolers in Hydro series namely H150i Pro and H115i Pro. The H115i Pro is a 280mm cooler whereas H150i Pro is a 360mm cooler and as such is the Corsair’s first cooler in the category of 360mm. Both of these coolers are bundled with the ML Low Noise PWM Fans with the 140mm version in the H115i Pro and 120mm version in the H150i Pro.

These coolers are featuring the Asetek’s 6th generation pump and PCB. This is presumably the first coolers with 6th gen technology of Asetek though we are not sure about that. Corsair has been marketing these coolers to be built for low noise cooling and bold styling with RGB LED pump head with a tagline of “Be Seen, Not Heard”.

These coolers have Zero RPM functionality that can be accessed through the Corsair Link software in which the fans will stop spinning at low temperatures eliminating the fans noise altogether.

The Corsair has provided a 9-pin USB 2.0 cable. Its mini end is connected to the block and the 9-pin USB connector is inserted in a USB 2.0 header of the motherboard. Using this cable, we can control the cooler’s lighting effects and performance using the Corsair Link software which can be downloaded from their website.

There are 3 cables coming out of the block on the rear side in between the hoses ends. These cables are SATA cable to power up the pump and connected fans. The second cable is a 3-pin one which is to be connected to the CPU fan header to report the pump’s speed. The third cable is a splitter cable with 3 4-pin headers. The ML series low noise fans can be connected to these fan headers. Corsair has provided 3 120mm ML Low Noise PWM fans with this cooler.

In our performance testing, this cooler has shown a decent performance with the stock fans which is actually in line with what Corsair is trying to achieve with this cooler. So, in that very perspective, this cooler has performed very well by offering low noise yet adequate cooling performance. On the other hand, this level of performance is also being achieved by a 240mm closed loop cooler hence the price factor is making its entry in the big equation as well.

We have three factors at hand; Performance, Noise, Value. This cooler is not a value product as it is an expensive solution given the performance level that it is offering but it is a clear winner in terms of low noise operations. It is clear that with this cooler, either you go for silent operations or high performance but not both at the same time.

And for that high performance, you would need better fans that would add further to the bill. Corsair is offering 5 years warranty on this cooler which shows their confidence in this product.
