What I"m using this module for is perfect because of Size, to start with. whoever sees this that bought any Arduino starter kit, said Arduino kit comes with a small LCD module, right? well the display tube itself is the exact same size as one of those, though the circuit board is a little bigger it"s the perfect size! I also love the Look of a VFD more than LCD displays because of not only what it looks like in action, but also in a dimly lit or dark room with many other small indicator lights blinking, or a dark room in general with some devices operating, the lights add to the beauty of the working display. I had a dream on of the previous nights and i saw what this looks like when it"s running. the Color of it is kinda like a turquoise Blueish-Green color, that i can remember clearly from the fragment out of the whole dream i had. if i had more money i"d buy more of these in bulk. and what i"m using the only Vacuum Fluorescent Display (VFD) module i purchased for is a Watch. what are you still reading my review rambling on for? if you make stuff with electronic parts, go and buy one of these! i"m speaking from the heart, and from the nostalgia of seeing these lit up when i was a kid.Read full review

What can you do?The typical "bottle-neck" when connecting a new colour display to an existing control system is that the amount of data communication can increase by a factor of 20 which can result in slow updates and poor animation capability. itronOS+ allows you to move the application processing from the host control system into the display so all the host needs to do is collect raw data and send it directly to thedisplay module. In 20% of projects, customers dispense with their existing control system and use the itron SMART display module to control the whole product.

The built in functionality of itronOS+ allows screen navigation, full graphic image and touch control, data logging to SD card, graph and pie chart drawing, 4 dimensional arrays for spread sheet implementation, 7 decimal point calculation and text / buffer manipulation, user or built in protocols with interface control, timers, counters, clock, calendar and alarm. We have implemented over 200 customer suggestions to allow itronOS+ to really work for their application requirements.
