fiat 500 new tft display factory
You can also edit, in MultiECUScan, the TPMS calibration settings to prevent the low pressure warnings from going off. 99% of people do not need to do this, however, if you are installing this cluster in a 500T and using 500T tire pressures which are lower than Abarth pressures due to suspension differences, etc, you may get a low tire pressure warning. To resolve it, simply use Abarth tire pressures.
- A 2015+ TFT Cluster that has lower miles or kms than your current cluster. (You can get a cluster from an American or Candian car as you can switch the units to metric/imperial and it changes the odometer as well). No issues.
- It does not have to be an Abarth specific cluster, but it cannot be a 500e Cluster (although as BigDaddySRT tested, it works completely fine minus the 500e specific stuff)
Ok, so now that you have a cluster and it"s LOWER kilometers or miles than your current cluster, you have removed your current cluster and installed the new cluster. Everything seems to work out of the box except it might not be an Abarth cluster or, it"s in a base 500 mode missing some features. Also, the odometer is flashing and doesn"t match the mileage of your car.
This is where MultiECUScan comes into play. In MultiECUScan we need to write the kilometers to the cluster and perform a Proxi Alignment. It"s self explanatory, but in MES, go to the cluster section for the TFT cluster, change the kilometers to what your previous cluster had and write the changes. MAKE SURE you put in the CORRECT amount. YOU CANNOT wire the cluster to a LOWER value, it"s impossible with MES. If you have messed up, there is no fix, you will need to get another cluster or install your old cluster. I cannot stress this enough.
This will open a HEX editor-like window. This is basically what is getting written to the body control modules, CTM, etc when we do the Proxi Alignment. Find Byte 65, this is the byte that controls the TFT displays.
00 : This is the base 500 display. It has the crappy font from the base 500/500 sport and also features a Sport Mode. I personally do not like the font, gauge faces, drives me nuts, YMMV.
40 : This is the 500T display type. It features a digital turbo boost gauge (commanded boost) on the right side of the cluster in Sport Mode. I"ve been using this display for a little over 24 hours now and it works great.
- If you are running this display type in your Abarth, your OEM turbo boost gauge will be "turned off" as the 500T does not have this gauge. The cluster *runs* that turbo boost gauge. It won"t even light up. For those that have after market boost gauges in this spot, this may cause your aftermarket gauge to not get power or illuminate depending on how you wired it. This cluster uses the same font as the Abarth cluster. A+.
60 : This is the Abarth display type. It features a throttle position indicator in Sport Mode which does not work, Abarth branded Start Up/Shut Down screens and G-Force, which does not work. You can simply turn off G-Force and have it display tire pressure or the radio or average Kms to get around that issue. Not a big deal, but the throttle position gauge, there is not a fix for it yet. (This is why I switched to the 500T display type).
Note: The 2015 OEM Boost Gauge displays SPORT, not SHIFT UP like the 2014 and earlier models. In sport mode *SHIFT UP* will always be lit up on the boost gauge in Abarth mode. The solution is to replace the OEM boost gauge with a 2015 gauge (should be direct fit) or just ignore it haha.
Ok, so to recap, CTRL ALT C, find byte 65, change that byte to the display type you want (00, 20, 40 or 60), press OK, perform the Proxi Alignment Procedure.
On the day orders opened for the New 500 “la Prima” hatchback, Olivier François – President Fiat Brand Global – tells the story of the New 500 and its first test drive. The video is available atlink
The New 500’s dealer tour of Italy continues: around 40 stops the full length of the peninsula to discover Fiat"s new icon with zero CO2 emissions. The program will be extended to the French and German markets in September.
In the video presenting the test first drive, Olivier François – President Fiat Brand Global – wanted to take all fans of the 500 on board the New 500 “la Prima” in the best way possible, to be the first to experience the FCA city car with zero CO2 emissions, passing the symbolic Turin locations that have made history for Fiat’s icon.
“We usually take a new car onto the road for the first time with the cameras off. But for the New 500, I decided to take you with me! The first test drive of the New Fiat 500,” said Olivier François, “is a very special moment, even a slightly magical one. A ‘vision’ coming true. Teamwork taking shape. To tell the truth, it"s also a very challenging time”. The head of Fiat therefore ‘takes’ the public on a voyage of discovery of the many wonders of the gem of beauty, innovation, technology and sustainability that is the New 500.
A thrilling journey, starting from the Mirafiori plant, where the New 500 is manufactured: in its 81 years, the Mirafiori complex has made history in the Italian and global automotive industry. Opened in 1939, the Turin plant marked the beginning of modern production for Fiat and is still one of the longest running European automotive factories. A new chapter now begins with the production of the third-generation Fiat 500: the Group has developed a new transformation, starting right from the beating heart of the complex and its production. Around 1,200 people will work solely on manufacturing the New 500, while the production capacity will be 80,000 units per year, which could increase as necessary. In total – between the costs of design, development and engineering and the construction of the production line – it represents an investment of over €700 million. Even better, the New 500 was created, designed and engineered right here in Turin: a product truly “Made at Fiat” and “Made in Turin”.
The next stage of the test drive on board the New 500 will be Lingotto, the former Fiat factory with a track on its roof, the site of pre-delivery quality testing on the first-generation Fiat 500. The factory has now been converted into a museum, the home of the Pinacoteca Agnelli art gallery. Its fourth floor hosts the “Virtual Casa 500”, an online exhibition to preview the full opening to the public of the Casa 500 in spring 2021.
Olivier François" journey aboard the electric 500 then continues along the boulevards of the regional capital at the foot of the Alps and ends on the Monte dei Cappuccini, close to the city center, on the right bank of the river Po, with its breathtaking views of the city and the Alps. An amazing place, to admire the clear blue sky of a gorgeous summer’s day. “Since the end of lockdown, we have all learned to appreciate life in the great outdoors even more and the preciousness of the environment around us,” continued the head of Fiat. “Preserving that environment is up to us, too.”
Just one more reason to opt for the New 500: beautiful, innovative and ecological. An environment-friendly car, one to meet the requirements of customers who wish to drive the car of the future, with its Italian taste and elegance. Orders opened in July for the “la Prima” cabrio, a resounding success, demonstrated by a steady increase in orders. From today at all Fiat dealerships, customers can now also order the New 500 “la Prima” hatchback: the 500 sedan with zero CO2 emissions.
The New 500 hatchback features a sophisticated panoramic glass sunroof: a veritable ‘window on the sky’, to flood the passenger compartment with light, improving comfort while driving and on-board wellbeing. As well as the panoramic sunroof, the rear of the New 500 “la Prima” hatchback stands out for its tailgate and a new, now more pronounced spoiler, to improve aerodynamic efficiency. The model is available in three exclusive liveries, inspired by the fundamental elements of nature: Ocean Green (pearlescent), reminiscent of the sea; Mineral Grey (metallic), for the Earth; and Celestial Blue (three-layer), for the sky. Extras include full LED headlights, 17” diamond-cut wheels, chrome-plated inserts on the windows and side panels, and dashboard and seat upholstery in eco-leather.
Fitted with the most innovative Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) as standard – including iACC (Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control), to brake or accelerate in response to any obstacle it encounters; Lane Centering, to keep the vehicle in the center of the lane, provided the markings are correctly detected; Intelligent Speed Assist, which reads detectable speed limits and recommends applying them; Urban Blind Spot, using ultrasonic sensors to monitor blind spots and advise you with a triangular warning light if any other vehicles are approaching; Attention Assist, which provides warnings on the display, recommending that you stop and take a break when you are tired; and 360° sensors, providing a drone view to avoid any obstacles when parking or performing complex maneuvers – the New 500 “la Prima” hatchback is the first car in its segment to feature level 2 autonomous driving and introduces the new UConnect 5 infotainment system: 7” TFT Display, 10.25” Touch Screen NAV, DAB Radio, Wireless CarPlay / Android Auto, with the Uconnect Box pre-installed as standard to provide a suite of innovative connected Uconnect Services – making their debut in the New 500 “la Prima” cabrio and hatchback – including ‘over-the-air’ map updates and the option to interact with your car using Amazon Alexa voice assistant technology.
But it"s the range and reduced charging time that make the difference: the lithium-ion batteries with 42 kWh capacity give the New 500 a range of up to 320 km in the WLTP combined cycle and up to 458 km in the urban cycle. To optimize charging time, the New 500 “la Prima” hatchback includes DC fast charge at up to 85 kW as standard, to recharge the battery very quickly. For example, it takes only 5 minutes – the same as drinking a coffee – to build up enough of an energy reserve to travel 50 kilometers within the city, more than necessary for average daily use. And fast charge can also replenish the battery to 80% in just 35 minutes.
The New 500 “la Prima” hatchback is therefore a veritable concentration of style and technology, directly aimed at fans of beauty, creativity and innovation. Just like its previous generations, the statistics prove the new full-electric model to be another international star: the pre-booking figures for the cabrio and hatchback versions show that over 80% of online requests have come from abroad.
In Italy in July and August, the New 500 “la Prima” cabrio – the Numbered version of which sold out immediately in the booking phase – has starred in the “Tour AntePrima”, a series of events at Fiat dealerships with one-to-one presentations to customers who had already pre-booked. Over 40 dealers across Italy have been involved in the encounter to get up close and personal with the New 500 and delve into all its details. Each day ended with an invitation-only evening event. Countless fans and interested parties have made the dealer tour a success, so much so that it was extended to the German market on August 17, with three “Casa 500” opened in France.
Details on the 2015 Fiat 500, which will feature a handful of updates, have now been released a week before the car is showcased at the 2014 New York Auto Show.
The most significant change is a 7-inch TFT (Thin-Film Transistor) display in the instrument cluster, which places the speed readout prominently in the center, along with an image of the car.
These models are currently available only with a five-speed manual, while other gasoline 500 models are available with either a manual or automatic transmission.
Fiat has not released updated fuel economy numbers for 2015, but the 2014 500 is EPA-rated at 34 mpg combined (31 mpg city, 40 mpg highway) with the manual transmission, and 30 mpg combined (27 mpg city, 34 mpg highway) with the automatic.
The manual-only 2014 500 Turbo has identical combined and highway ratings to the non-turbocharged, automatic 500, but gains 1 mpg city, figures shared with the Abarth models.
This is very similar to the well-known proxi alignment issue that affects Fiats right across the range; and not just those with TFT displays. The mileage reading is stored digitally both in the body computer and in the display; if the two mileage readings differ, then the display flashes.
The fix is a software update process known as proxi alignment (IIRC that"s the correct italian spelling) which brings the two mileages back into synchronisation; my guess is that, as the Tipo is so new, Fiat haven"t rolled out the software to do this to the dealerships yet
What I thought of doing, if the original radio needed to be connected, is to hide it out of the way in the boot and run whatever wires as an extension, tapping into the original loom back into the car but from what I can gather, the original radio has standard ISO A/B/C. Also, I would have thought if it had anything to do with the radio, it would have worked when I plugged the original back in with the TFT.
This guy (http://www.fiatforum.com/500/434392-ret ... uster.html) is running a 2015 cluster in a 2008 car and he"s not reported any issues - the date on the speedo matched the post"s date!
It seems like the TFT has defaulted to a template that contains different menu features for different markets. Just need to activate the template somehow! It still doesn"t explain why the most basic feature of setting the time and date isn"t available though.

Hard to believe, but the modern Fiat 500 turns 15 this year and despite the launch of this all-electric, all-new model last year, original ICE-powered versions remain on-sale, for now.
Outside, 500 fans will be pleased that the new model doesn"t reinvent the still-stylish look of the modern original. Instead, it looks like a clever update. In pictures, the 500e looks a similar size, but in the metal, it"s significantly bigger thanks to its all-new electric platform. In fact, it"s 61mm longer, 56mm wider and 29mm taller.Despite these packaging changes, during the week we had the car, we still found it a tight fit for taller drivers in the front, especially with growing children in the back. Carrying two adults and two children is possible, but only for short distances in our opinion. 185 litres doesn"t sound a lot either, but the 500e"s boot is surprisingly practical in use.
The space issues are partly forgotten thanks to the 500e"s attractive interior design, quality interior fabrics and good all-round vision. The dashboard design itself follows the original, but the instruments have been replaced by a 7in digital TFT screen, with another 10.25in touch screen taking care of the infotainment.
On the road, the 500e"s small dimensions and light feel means it"s quick straight of the mark. 62mph accelerations takes nine seconds - but on the road we"d say it feels keener than that. Top speed is 93mph, but after a couple of charges, the 199-mile official range seems about right. There are also three driving modes to change the character of this car. "Normal" is where our car spent most of its time and feels closest to the performance of a combustion engine. "Range" is great around town, where the more noticeable regenerative braking means you only really use the accelerator. Finally, "Sherpa" is a get-you-home mode, making the most of any range left and directing you to the nearest charge point.
Along with the energetic performance, the tidy handling, precise steering and a comfortable ride, even on the optional 17in wheels, means the 500e is a fun and engaging drive. Although more feel from the steering would be welcome.
So, to sum up, despite the switch to electric power, the Fiat 500 remains as stylish inside and out. On top of this, it offers a decent range compared with rivals, with the option to fast-charge and is actually more fun to drive than its original ICE brother.
Having dominated its segment, across Europe, for five years, here comes the new Fiat 500L. The roomiest 500 of all is now even more full of technology and has even more character and personality. These characteristics combine in the three distinct versions of the car: Úrban, Cross and Wagon, offered with a choice of petrol and diesel engines to delight different people and serve their individual needs.
All three share outstanding safety features and a flexible internal configuration, enabling customers to create up to 1,500 internal customisations. The 500 style is even more obvious in this updated version, on which 40% of all components are new. The Fiat 500L combines all the style and excitement of the Fiat 500 with the spaciousness and functionality of an MPV.
The new Fiat 500L is designed to reinforce the family feeling of the model. The exterior style expresses all the distinctive elements which have characterised the model throughout its history, ever since its iconic 1950s forerunner. The most obvious visual links are the "moustache and badge" combo set on the trapezoidal nose, the upper headlights with chrome-plated elements and the lower cluster, now with LED daytime running lights, which pick up the graphics of the two "zeros" in 500. These elements ensure that this new car is clearly identifiable as a Fiat 500L, even in the dark.
The revised front bumper with signature trapezoidal trim and the chromed "studded" three-dimensional lower grille mesh give the car an elegant look. At the same time, the chromed strips, which direct the eye to the wheel arches, convey toughness, resulting in the new Fiat 500L looking even more expressive. The chromed inserts at the rear underline the 500 family feeling and horizontal trims reinforce the car"s presence on the road. The fog and reversing lights are now in the underside of the bumper, increasing their effectiveness.
The new Fiat 500L is available in ten pastel or metallic colours and with three types of roof: body-coloured, glossy black or white or matt black, giving customers a choice of no less than 36 colour combinations. The colours available are the new Denim Blue, Sicilian Orange and Donatello Bronze, Bossa Nova White, Hip Hop Yellow, Darkwave Black, Minimal Grey, Heavy Metal Grey, Beatbox Green and Pasodoble Red.
The interior of the new Fiat 500L is completely new, starting with an updated dashboard to give a more high-tech and iconic look. The passenger compartment offers comfort, convenience, versatility and is filled with light, while being rich in distinctive 500 touches, such as the bright "500" signature on the dashboard.
The area behind the restyled multifunctional steering wheel, now with added chrome accents, has an updated design with two circular instrument gauges on either side of a 3.5-inch colour graphic display. This combination of new steering wheel and dashboard improves the visibility of the instrument cluster, which is further enhanced by white backlighting. The driver also benefits from an innovative TFT colour digital display, with a full set of useful information.
The new Fiat 500L displays an innovative wraparound glazing concept to improve its now class-leading visibility and ease of parking, thanks to its glazed A-pillar. Available as a fixed panel or electrically opening, the 1.5m2 optional panoramic glass roof of Fiat 500L means that occupants can enjoy a light, bright passenger compartment.
While the top section of the dashboard conveys a fresh personality, the lower part focuses on convenience with new, larger storage compartments and the introduction of new comfort features, such as the central armrest. The gear lever has also been redesigned and placed higher up for greater driving comfort.
The new Fiat 500L is available with three distinctive personalities: Úrban, Cross and Wagon. The more adventurous character of the Fiat 500L is represented by the Cross version. The new Fiat 500L Cross has a one-of-a-kind crossover look with new bumpers and skid plate, new two-colour diamond-finish 17-inch alloy wheels and a bold grille to give it a sporty appearance. It has crossover substance, as well as looks, with ground clearance raised by 25mm, new Úconnect™ HD Live 7-inch touchscreen and the new Mode Selector; with a choice of Normal, Traction+ and Gravity Control.
Normal is the default function and provides a comfortable, safe ride in ordinary conditions. Traction+, which can be activated at speeds of less than 18mph, helps the car to start on slippery surfaces and provides optimal torque distribution across the front axle, braking the wheel with less grip on the ground and transferring torque to the one with more grip. Gravity Control keeps the speed constant when descending steep slopes, and can be enabled when the Traction+ function is active. The new Fiat 500L Cross is 4.28m long with a wheelbase of 2.61m. It is 1.80m wide and 1.68m high.
The metropolitan soul of the Fiat 500L finds expression in the Úrban version, available in Pop Star and Lounge trim levels. In Pop Star trim, also available in the new Denim Blue colour, the new Fiat 500L Úrban come complete with ABS, ESP, 6 airbags, air conditioning, cruise control, multifunction Techno-leather steering wheel, electrically adjustable & heated door mirrors, 3.5-inch colour TFT display, 5-inch Úconnect™ radio with Bluetooth, voice control, ÚSB port and Aux-in, rear seat with 60/40 split, LED daytime running lights and 16-inch alloy wheels.
In the more luxurious Lounge trim, it features upgraded seat upholstery, a dashboard fascia finished with technical fabric, dual zone climate control, fixed glass roof, chromed inserts, fog lights, Úconnect™ HD Live 7-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth, voice control, DAB radio, 2 ÚSB ports and Aux-in, rain and dusk sensors, rear parking sensors and Cargo Magic Space height-adjustable load platform. The Fiat 500L Úrban measures 4.24m in length, has a wheelbase of 2.61m, is 1.78m wide and 1.66m high.
The Wagon, available in a seven seat configuration, is the ideal solution for combining spaciousness and versatility with the distinctive 500 style. Available in Pop Star or Lounge trim, the new Fiat 500L Wagon is the most compact seven-seater on the market at 4.38m long.
Exclusive packs are available across the new Fiat 500L range to enhance the driving experience, comfort and safety. Every version can customise its style, connectivity, comfort and safety features by adding one of these great value packages; City, Comfort, Safety, Style and Style Plus packs.
Autonomous City Brake, available as part of the Safety Pack, consists of a laser sensor located on the top of the windscreen to monitor the position of the cars ahead. When travelling at less than 18mph, the system automatically brakes the new Fiat 500L if a potential collision is imminent.
Other key equipment include the child monitoring mirror to keep an eye on rear seat passengers, LED daylight running lights and parking lights, which in addition to being design features that reassert the 500 style, also ensure excellent visibility. As well as electrical adjustment and heating, the door mirrors can be upgraded to fold electrically and add puddle lights, to illuminate the area around the car when light is poor.
New advanced smartphone integration systems are debuting on the new Fiat 500L. Smartphone apps can be accessed directly on the 7-inch high-resolution touchscreen of the Úconnect™ HD Live system integrated in the dashboard. The system is also available with Apple Car Play and Android Auto™.
The next-generation Úconnect™ system features a hands-free Bluetooth interface, audio streaming, text reader and voice recognition, AÚX-in and ÚSB ports with iPod integration, controls on the steering wheel. A rear parking camera and the new TomTom 3D built-in navigation system are also optionally available. The Úconnect™ LIVE app offers music streaming with Deezer and TuneIn, news from Reuters and connected navigation with TomTom LIVE, as well as updating Facebook and Twitter. Úsers can also monitor their driving style with eco:Drive and my:Car.
The Fiat 500L is now available with the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto™. Apple CarPlay perfectly integrates the iPhone with the display and native controls of the car so users can make calls, play their music, send and receive messages, get directions optimised for traffic conditions and much more, while staying focused on the road.
The Fiat 500L can be upgraded with the BeatsAudio™ system, which boasts a total power of 520Watt, divided between two 80Watt mid-Woofer speakers (diameter 165mm) positioned in the bottom part of the front door panel, two 40Watt tweeter speakers (diameter 38mm) positioned in the top of the front door panel, two 60Watt full-range speakers (diameter 165mm) positioned in the rear door panel and an 80 + 80Watt subwoofer (diameter 165mm) located in the boot – which ensures dynamic, powerful bass tones, maximising the listening experience. The package is completed by an amplifier with DSP and 8 channels, featuring a built-in advanced equalisation algorithm capable of reproducing the entire spectrum of sound that an artist experiences in the recording studio.
With more than four million produced during its twenty-year production run, the tiny Fiat 500 was something to behold. Easy to spot by its rounded egg-like body, the Fiat 500 filled a need for utilitarian transportation for the Italian masses when it was introduced in 1957. The post-war European market needed an affordable option, and the rear-engined Fiat 500 was just the solution. The rear-engine....
