gopro hero lcd waterproof for sale
I have always been interested in a GoPro camera, but the darn things are just so expensive. I saw the GoPro Hero plus on eBay just before we went on a Caribbean vacation. We had plans to go snorkeling and I wanted a camera to take underwater pictures. Usually we use the waterproof 35mm disposable cameras, but the pictures never turn out. I did a little research on the camera. For a beginner camera, it had all the features I would need to take pictures, video, and then be able to review the footage using my phone. I picked up the camera for a song, and bought 2 of 64GB memory cards. Once I got it, I took some still shots and some video. I had to play around with the camera a bit to understand all if its functions. I downloaded the GoPro app to my phone and linked to the Hero Plus to see the pics and video. The quality was very good. We bought an extendable selfie-stick to put the camera on, and we were set for vacation. While on vacation we went snorkeling several times. I got lots of video footage. The camera worked well underwater. The lighting was great and the colors show with vibrance. I took many still shots that turned out great. I am very happy with the camera and look forward to using it more when we off-road and ride our ATVs.
The GoPro HERO+ LCD expands upon the all-in-one design of the HERO model by adding the convenience of a built-in touchscreen LCD. Like the HERO, the HERO+ LCD is waterproof to depths of 131" without requiring a separate housing; simply secure the Touch Backdoor in place for a watertight seal. The camera also sees a boost in its imaging capabilities by offering 1080p video at up to 60 fps and 8MP still photos in single-shot, time-lapse, and 5 fps burst modes. Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth lets you connect the camera to the GoPro Smart Remote or to the GoPro App on your mobile device for shot preview, complete camera control, and easy content sharing to social media sites.
In addition to a Touch Backdoor, a Skeleton Backdoor is included for use on dry land, which features cutouts for improved audio capture using the built-in microphone. Also included with the HERO+ LCD are flat and curved adhesive mounts for surfboards, helmets, boats, and other smooth surfaces, as well as a quick release buckle that clips in and out of them. Apart from these, the camera can be used with a range of separately available mounting hardware for adaptation to just about any scenario.
HERO11 Black & HERO10 Black are rugged and waterproof right out of the box, but this housing handles anything you can throw at it. It protects from dirt and flying debris, and it’s waterproof down to 196ft (60m) for deep-water diving.
Some years ago, Cris and I bought a GoPro camera for our holidays in Madagascar. It is a GoPro Hero+ LCD. The main reasons to buy this camera were the fact that it comes from the factory in a waterproof box. For most other cameras one needs to buy such a box separately and it could easily cost as much as the camera. The box is claimed to be water proof to a depth of 40 meters. We have taken it on many dives, usually to around 18 meters, but also to a maximum of 26 meters and it didn’t leak a drop. GoPro doesn’t make them like that anymore: their current model, HERO7, is water proof to only 10 meters. I guess they
Another important reason for us to buy this camera was that it had an LCD screen at the back. So you can actually see the picture that you are taking or movies that you are shooting. It sounds like a no-brainer but the models before and after that particular one did not include this feature. If I remember correctly, we were just in time in 2015 because GoPro was moving on to their next model without the screen. It seems that they changed their minds because the current model has a screen again.
The LCD screen has touch-screen functionality, which sounds nice but only comes in handy when you are preparing the GoPro. After all, the screen also is in the box which is closed when you are using it, definitely when you are using it for diving. GoPro made a lid for the box that preserved the touch screen functions, but it was only water proof to 3 meter. Fortunately all the functions can also be operated with the three buttons which do work under water. And if you use it often, you’ll learn the exact series of buttons to press, which can be a lot faster than the touch screen.
Bad news number 1 is that there are not many producers that take into account the entire range of GoPros. Our HERO+ LCD counts as an ancient model, apparently.
