If you want great art for your Frame TV but don’t want to pay for it, these are my top hacks on how to get free art for the Samsung Frame TV and install it fast and easy (with 5 free digital downloads to get you started!).
What’s so unique about the Samsung Frame TV as a smart TV, in particular, is that it’s really thin and can be mounted completely flush onto a wall (with the “brains” of the TV being housed in a separate box elsewhere). So, when you set it to display digital art (with or without matting) on the screen in “art mode,” it appears like a regular piece of art in a picture frame instead of a TV.

While you can buy beautiful art via Samsung’s art store (around the price of $20 each) or even shop for a digital download for your Frame TV on Etsy, the purpose of this post is to teach you some easy tips on how to get free art for the Samsung Frame TV.
I recommend using high-quality images so they don’t appear pixelated, and then cropping and/or re-sizing them to fit the dimensions 3840 pixels x 2160 pixels, which is the proper size for art for the Samsung Frame TV.
You can also create your own images digitally in the software of your choice. Again, I personally use Canva to do this, but you can also use the free art converter tool from Deco TV Frames.
In Canva, I simply click “create a design,” and then enter the dimensions 3840 pixels x 2160 pixels. A bunch of seasonal templates then pop up. You can also search for templates or create an image with whatever words, images, and other images you choose.
This is a great option if you are looking for something that looks like a painting. However, you can also get great, high-quality photographs this way.
Note:You can also do this using Samsung’s Smart Things app, but I find the app to be extremely glitchy, so I recommend a different way of installing art on the Samsung Frame TV below.

As discussed, first you will need to download art or a photo and crop/re-size it to 3840 pixels x 2160 pixels in Canva or another photo editing software like the Deco TV Frames free art converter tool. (In Canva, I simply click “create a design,” then enter the dimensions 3840 pixels x 2160 pixels. Then, I upload my image and add it to the blank template.)
7. You can also modify the brightness, color tone, etc., under “Settings” on the top right of the screen. I recommend toning down the brightness to get the art to look more real as opposed to digital.

You can make cheap portable art display panels using polycarbonate sheets. You need 4mm or 10mm twin-wall polycarbonate roofing/glazing panels. Cut them to size, use them as they are, or cover them in nylon fabric, vinyl, or spray paint. Tidy the sides with edging strips.
While there’s no doubt that buying a professional modular system is convenient, that comes at a financial cost, plus they’re only designed for interior use.
There will be times when you’ll book art shows with outdoor booth space, and I know from experience, the elements are your enemy. Wind, rain, and sun all create major problems.
Art displays must be lightweight, strong, and suitable for exterior use, not only that, but an artwork display system must also be versatile enough to adapt to any given space and situation,
Professional art display stands can all meet some of these design requirements, but not all. Gridwall mesh walls, for example, are heavy and can withstand windy situations, but they also rust to hell.
Ideally, they should be so versatile they can be used as art display walls, A-boards, or on tabletop displays They should be made to the highest standards and still be cheap.
You see so many ideas for art show display panels on sites such as Pinterest, and they’d have you believe that you can just throw your display boards into the back of a van and, off you go. Yeah right.
Well, what if you don’t have, or want to own, a van? Are the display panels they suggest really so practical? Have you ever picked up 6ft x 2ft metal Gridwall panels? They’re not my idea of portable I can tell you. You’ll get a bloody hernia.
A new sheet will have a protective film on both sides. It not only prevents ugly scratching, but it’s also less slippery for your ruler, and you can draw guidelines over it with a permanent marker. Don’t peel it off until the end.
This is where it’s not as obvious as you think. I traded for many years without a van and when I eventually bought one, it was very small and space was limited.
For years I’ve been using 5ft x 2ft (150cm x 60cm) display panels.. Originally I used 10mm twin-wall panels but more recently I’ve used 4mm x 4ft x 2ft (120cm x 60cm) panels. They are strong enough for my needs, I suspend them on a metal frame.
It seemed like the perfect answer at first, but after a few months of heavy use, the shortcomings became apparent.The nylon fabric was not suitable for exterior use. The color bleached.
You’ll have the same problem with professional modular display panels. They’re great for occasional use, and if that’s your intention, go for it. Otherwise, consider a different option.
Before you start, it’s important to remember that anything trapped between the vinyl and the panel will stand out horribly as you stick the plastic down. The tiniest speck will stand out like a teenage pimple and you can’t remove it. Even a hair will look like twisted wire. Be warned, the surface must be clean.
Picture frame glass is fragile and breakages in transit are almost guaranteed. Not only that, having glass around the public is not wise. If you’re determined to display framed art, use acrylic plexiglass for safety. It’s won’t break, but it will scratch easily. Likewise, the frames chip easily too.
Trading art outdoors is not easy. Dry your display prints with a hairdryer before wrapping and sealing them. The paper holds more moisture than you think, and you’ll get condensation.
The most important thing to remember is to carry spares, for repairs. If something can go wrong, it will go wrong, and it’s only a disaster if you can do anything about it at the time.
I use it all the time. It’s so handy. It cuts like cardboard and you can make boxes, trays, and backing boards. There are any number of uses. I use it for cheap art display panels too.
Like cardboard, it’s not very strong along the corrugations. It bends easily. You must use rigid trims, crosswise at each end, if you use them for display panels.
I make my own cheap art display panels because I know from experience that the less I have to carry, the happier I am. Lugging around heavy gear ain’t no fun.
Don’t get too obsessed with having the perfect display. When in doubt throw a cloth over it. It works wonders. All you need is something that grabs the attention of passers-by.

If you don’t need to visualize the art on your own wall, then Artrooms is a great display art on wall app. This is ideal for artists to see how their pieces will look in different interiors, and the images you create can be used to promote your art. The best feature is that you can display multiple pieces of art on the wall at once. So if you have a multi-panel creation, you’ll be able to see how everything fits on the wall together.
For the artists out there, Voun has it all. This app’s main feature is framing. You can choose frames in different materials, finishes, and colors to see how they’ll complement your art. After choosing your frame, you can see what it will look like on different types of walls, like brick or concrete. The app has a built-in photo editor to toggle shadows, contrast, and more. An additional feature we love is that you can add your signature to your piece.
The downside to Voun is that you can only see the art on a small section of the wall. That means it’s not the type of wall art visualizer that will let you how the art looks with your sofa and other décor. However, this is a great tool for artists to keep the spotlight on their work.
Take a picture of the wall you want to hang your photo on. Then, find the piece of art you’re eyeing up and copy it. Open Instagram stories and, just as if you were going to post a story, select the photo you took of your room. Hold down on the screen until you see “paste” pop up, and paste your art photo. You can resize the art and move it around the wall as much as you want.
Remove.bg might not be exactly what you’re looking for in a free preview art on wall app, but it’s a great tool to help with the process. It works right in your browser to remove the background of your photos. For example, if you have a photo of your art but the background includes your messy workspace, you can upload the photo and remove.bg automatically removes the background noise. I love to stream free art on my TV for holidays, seasons, or just to see beautiful images. It makes that big old black box seem so much more cozy! It sets such a calming tone when I’m by myself at home cleaning and doing things around the house. Streaming free art is also a great way to display beautiful images when you are entertaining!
First of all, if you have a smart TV (one that will stream the internet), you can skip this paragraph. But if you do not have a smart TV, you would need to purchase a streaming device. These can be a Roku, Firestick or other device that allows a TV to stream the internet. Be sure to check which connection the device comes with, and be sure that your TV has that connection! This is typically a HDMI cable, or a USB port. These devices start at about $27.99, and are often on sale! There are many free TV apps that you can use once you have a streaming device, so you can get a lot of entertainment at little cost!
Once you have your streaming device set up and connected, you can search for apps for TV art. There are many paid ones out there, but there are sources that will make your TV display art for free! If you have Roku device, you can use the app Art Stream for free. My favorite way is to go to YouTube. Navigate to the YouTube app, and search whatever kind of art you are wanting to display.
For example, if you wanted to see winter images, search “free winter TV art”. My absolute favorite kind of art to display is vintage artwork. There are so many amazing pieces of art! This is one of my favorites for winter!

Go to ART MODE. There is an art store that you can buy a monthly subscription for, but I like to customize and load my own images, either family photos or art I’ve chosen myself!
I like the look of the screen without a mat added, but it’s a little bit tricky to get the Smart Things App to show you the full-screen display option. The photo/art you are adding has to be 3840x2160px exactly in order for it to allow you to remove the mat. I resize any images I want to use in CANVA and then put them in a folder in my photos on my phone so I can find them quickly when I want to change my art!
If the screen is too bright the image may look too illuminated to be real. To make it look more realistic, turn down the brightness on your TV and make your digital art look more like a painting!
