What"s wrong wit... moreNothing wrong with made in China but most Chinese people when given the option between the same phone with a Samsung screen and BOE would still choose the Samsung one. BOE screens have improved a lot though in the last couple of years. They used to use a different pixel arrangement that Chinese people called the "Zhou dongyu" pixel arrangement which looks like a duck"s eyes and beak. These screens were much less sharp than Samsung screens with Samsung"s pixel arrangement. That gave them a bad reputation in China a couple of years ago as they were inferior at that time. However, BOE has since developed a new pixel arrangement and their more recent screens are much improved with this new pixel arrangement. Honor is using these screens on their 60, 70 and magic 3 and magic 4 series. BOE"s new oled screens often support high frequency 1920Hz pwm dimming too which should help users who are sensitive to screen flicker on Oled screens and is an advantage of certain BOE screens. I think the new BOE screens should be close in quality to Samsung ones.

Anonymous, 07 Jul 2022because they use midrange display/people called them trash display for phone so called apple .... moreBecause Chinese"s phones whole "personality" is throwing around big numbers and brand names. Do you think Apple buys of the shelf components like all the Chinese phone makers? They don"t come to BOE and get a selection of 3 different panels and they just pick one. They come to BOE and tell them what kind of panels they want. And BOE makes them for them with those exact specifications. Same with Samsung and LG, Corning and bunch of other suppliers. It"s why iPhones cost more even when they (on paper) look worse. And why they also still perform exceptionally well even when they don"t look great on paper. Like all the LCD panels that everyone is complaining so much how they are "so last decade" all while often beating most AMOLED panels and have exceptional blacks despite being LCD displays. Because Apple didn"t just pick some crap, they told supplier exactly what they wanted and also got that. And they always demand great characteristics from suppliers.
