mitsubishi industrial lcd displays factory
In the second half of 2020 and going into 2021, the electronics market has seen a shortage of components which has resulted in longer lead times and increased pricing. CDS understand that this is affecting the Mitsubishi Last Time Buy and potentially causing sever delivery concerns going forward for the Mitsubishi supply.
Over the last 6 months CDS have worked with our Taiwanese factory to engineer drop-in replacements for the more popular products within the Mitsubishi range. We believe that they are competitively priced and on a quicker lead time. The alternative will have the same or better specification (brightness or viewing angles) and are designed to be electrically / mechanically drop in compatible. If you are using Mitsubishi, we would propose you see if it is on the list and talk to us. There are other supplier proposing alternatives, but often these are ‘near’ alternatives and will need the customer to undertake some re-engineering. With CDS we say that near is not close enough and our aim is to reduce as much pain as possible in the re-approval process.
If the Mitsubishi part being used is not on the list, please talk to us as it may be on the roadmap or subject to requirements, we may be able to engineer a solutions.

Sharp and Mitsubishi have been a mainstay of the industrial display market. Mitsubishi recently announced they are no longer in the LCD business. Sharp has drastically paired back their offering to the industrial market, sending multiple displays sizes into EOL (End Of Life). This change has been a trend in the industrial display market, where smaller gen-older fabs used to supply the industrial market are shutting down due to efficiency and the quest for volume and profit.
Where does this leave the industrial display user used to having long-life products that have become more customized to their applications? These are some of the choices for the industrial customer:
None of these seem like the right solution for an industrial customer. These companies may do two or fewer designs per year; they might require customization, and certainly need multi-year support.
Our knowledge of display technology and supply can help avoid expensive redesigns and provide a long term reliable solution. We are already supplying replacements for EOL displays from Sharp and Mitsubishi, so let us help you.

Its been a little more than one year since the Japanese electronics giant Mitsubishi announced the end of their LCD manufacturing business. This left many customers struggling to decide how to replace or repair their potentially aging fleet of displays. Mitsubishi in particular was a company renowned for very high quality displays and a retains a well known brand recognition within the industry, while many of the newer competing brands struggle to gain customer trust. How then, is an LCD customer supposed to best decide an alternative to their Mitsubishi display?
Some competitors show a replacement because they have the same diagonal size and resolution. The reality is, there are many different LCD’s that will match in size and resolution, but there are a ton of other real-world things to consider when selecting a replacement display.
Many Mitsubishi displays are high-end with improved brightness and contrast ratios that cannot be replaced by standard model LCDs. AGD can find the appropriate display to match or exceed your requirements.
The list above can continue to expand as each unique scenario is explored. Therefore, we won’t sugar coat the process and tell you it is a simple one. It is a timely and detailed process, but the good thing is AGDisplays focuses solely on these concerns daily. We speak with the LCD manufactures directly and perform the analysis for your team as part of our normal operations. We pride ourselves in treating our customers the way we require our suppliers treat us. Open and timely communication with transparency and detail-oriented focus. To us there is no other way to do business.
With our turnkey services we often are able to provide a customer the replacement displays along with the other items needed to make the change over simplistic for your company. We often deliver the LCD with:
The advantage AGDisplays brings to the table when working with a customer for selecting a replacement display, is that we explore every LCD manufacturer. Exploring the best LCD to meet your Mitsubishi specifications is key when exploring potential replacements.
With AGDisplays, customers can be assured a smooth transition from their End-of-Life and out of warranty Mitsubishi display, to a fully supported and modern LCD equivalent. To learn more about AGDisplays and our drop-in replacement services, please visit www.agdisplays.com.
When Mitsubishi announced that they would be discontinuing their LCD manufacturing, AGDisplays began exploring potential replacements to serve customers who will now be seeking replacement displays. While some companies may offer a “drop-in replacement," the term ”drop-in” implies that no changes will need made aside from the LCD. The reality is, in most instances, something will need to change to accommodate replacing a Mitsubishi LCD with another manufacturer"s display.
AGDisplays believes in being upfront and transparent when reviewing a customer’s current challenges. Having to replace an LCD that is already implemented in your product is certainly a challenge. Being misled at the beginning of the exploration process is certainly not a great starting point. Some competitors show a replacement because they have the same diagonal size and resolution. There are many different LCDs that will match in size and resolution, but there are other real-world considerations to review when selecting a replacement display.
Many Mitsubishi displays are high-end, with improved brightness and contrast ratios that cannot be replaced by standard model LCDs. We can find the appropriate display to match or exceed your requirements. We can also mitigate lead times by negotiating timed-release shipments.
Mitsubishi Electric company from Japan is well-known the world over for large-screen display panels and industrial-strength LCD monitors. Some of the popular models in use today include the Mitsubishi LDT461V industrial monitor along with the MDT461S and MDT402S LCD monitors.
You may notice that all of these monitors are pretty big in size, ranging from 40-46 ″. To make a comparison, they are similar to the sizes common among plasma televisions, but the technology that powers them is pure LCD.
And like any other LCD monitor manufactured in past two decades, there are two problems that affect even the Mitsubishi monitor– (1) Scratched screen, and (2) Dead backlight.
Since Mitsubishi LCDs are used as industrial-grade displays, the front panel is pretty strong and resistant to scratching. There’s a manufacturing difference between screens used in an industrial setup and one installed in homes.
Backlight failure is a problem that affects all LCD monitors– including Mitsubishi– though the lifespan will vary based on how you operate it and the quality of in-built electronic components.
The easiest way to repair a LCD backlight is to get a compatible replacement from eBay or the manufacturer’s website. For the most part, you don’t need to buy a new inverter as the existing one can be reused.
Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported on 26 Nov, that Mitsubishi Electric had won a deal to develop curved LCD module for trains and ships. The company recently announced the manufacturing of their highly environmental curved LCD modules with mass production capacity.
The new LCD module maintains almost the same specification of flat screen LCD module, with radius of curvature between 700mm and 1000mm. The screen size comes with a wide range to cater for demands from different businesses. The design of both the panel and case is scheduled to happen. A wide range of operating temperatures from -40°C to 80°C is confirmed, with 176° wide view, a high luminance of 1000 cd/m² and a contrast ratio of 1000:1. The product will provide high visibility even in a bright place, as claimed by Mitsubishi.
In 1980, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation pioneered the development of large-scale LED display technology and completed the world’s first Diamond Vision installation.
